    Abstract
Water channeling due to reservoir heterogeneity is an important factor that could decrease the displacement efficiency of a water flooding process. In this study, the ability of polyacrylamide/ chromium acetate system on altering water path in heterogeneous layered media was investigated using glass bead micromodels. After the relevant parameters were optimized, a series of water and gel injection experiments were conducted in glass bead micromodel. The experimental results show that sweep efficiency is basically controlled by gel strength. The gel strength has a minor impact on the oil recovery from the higher permeable zone, whereas the oil recovery from the lower permeable zone is a...

Gel-Electrolyte Based Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell Employing Mesoporous Tio2 Beads

    Abstract
Nowadays, dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) are highly regarded as a cheap alternative for conventional silicon-based solar cells. Improvements of their efficiency and performance sustainability are two major challenges of their commercialization. Engineering of the photoanode electrode by controlling its thickness, chemical composition, and morphology was proposed as effective method in increasing the light conversion efficiency of the cells. In the present study, mesoporous TiO2 beads with different arrangements including pristine mesoporous beads, mixtures of mesoporous beads with nanoparticles, and in the form of two-layer structure of nanoparticles (as an active layer) and mesoporous...

    Abstract
We report improved performance of Li-ion polymer batteries through advanced gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs). Compared to solid and liquid electrolytes, GPEs are advantageous as they can be fabricated in different shapes and geometries; also ionic properties are significantly superior to that of solid and liquid electrolytes. We have synthetized GPE in form of membranes by trapping ethylene carbonate and propylene carbonate in a composite of polyvinylidene fluoride and N-methylpyrrolidinore. By applying phase-transfer method, we synthetized membranes with micro-pores, which led to higher ionic conductivity. The proposed membrane is to be modified further to have higher capacity, stronger...

Investigation on gel polymer electrolyte-based dye-sensitized solar cells using carbon nanotube

    Abstract
A new poly (acrylonitrile) (PAN)-based gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) is fabricated to study the effect of carbon nanotube (CNT) on dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) efficiency. The GPEs are examined using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) to analyze ionic conductivity. A maximum of 4.45 mS cm−1 ionic conductivity is achieved at room temperature with incorporation of 11 wt.% CNT. Performance of DSSC is examined with a solar simulator, and the highest energy conversion efficiency of 8.87% is achieved with the addition of 11 wt.% CNT. All GPE samples are found to follow Arrhenius model with temperature-dependent ionic conductivity testing. Structural properties are also characterized...

Construction of New Polymer Electrolyte Based on PVDF-HFP, Plasticizer DMA AndSiO2nano-particles with High Ionic Conductivity for Lithium Batteries

    Abstract
Polymer electrolytes are most frequently used electrolytes especially in lithium ion batteries. The gel-polymer and polymer-ceramic electrolytes were synthesized using DMA plasticizer, LiClO4, and SiO2 ceramic Nano fillers through coating method. EIS, FTIR, XRD, SEM, and TGA analyses were carried out on electrolytes. The optimum amount of perchlorate and polymer was obtained 0.5 M and 5% w/w, respectively. Also, the optimum amount of silica was obtained 2% w/w. the optimizations were carried out suing conductometry. The EIS analysis showed the ionic conductance of gel-polymer 1.8 mS.cm-1 while that of ceramic-polymer was obtained 2.8 mS.cm-1
