    Abstract
    The crystallization behavior of fluorphlogopite, a glass-ceramic in the MgO-SiO2-Al2O3-K2O-B 2O3-F system, was studied by substitution of Li 2O for K2O in the glass composition. DTA, XRD and SEM were used for the study of crystallization behavior, formed phases and microstructure of the resulting glass-ceramics. Crystallization kinetics of the glass was investigated under non-isothermal conditions, using the formal theory of transformations for heterogeneous nucleation.     Abstract
    The present work aims to fabricate cordierite/BZBS glass (Bi2O3-ZnO-B2O3-SiO2) composites through one-step heat treatment. Cordierite was synthesized from a solid-state reaction of aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, and silica gel. BZBS glass was obtained through the classic melt quenching technique. Milled cordierite powder was mixed with different volume fractions of glass powders and heat treated at 950 °C. Considering the densification behavior along with the microwave dielectric features, two composites (C70G30 and C60G40) were chosen for further examination.     Abstract
    The biodegradation behavior of Mg, coated by polymethyl methacrylate as well as polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA)−bioactive glass (BG) composite was investigated. Electrophoretic deposition and dip coating techniques were adopted to prepare composite coating using a suspension of different percentages of the above two chemical materials. The deposited coatings were characterized using SEM, EDS, FTIR, and water contact angle measurements. Biodegradation behavior study of the coated Mg was performed using linear polarization, impedance spectroscopy, and immersion tests in simulated body fluid.     Abstract
    The effects of SiO 2 and K 2O were investigated on the glass forming ability (GFA) and structural characteristics of CaOTiO 2P 2O 5 system. Differential thermal analyzer (DTA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), FT-IR and 31P magic angle spinning NMR methods were applied for characterizations of the system. Unwanted crystallization in the initial three components base glass composition was observed by adding SiO 2 and crystalline phases such as TiP 2O 7, rutile (TiO 2) and cristobalite (SiO 2) were formed in it.
