    Graphene quantum dots (GQDs) as a sort of carbon-based nanomaterials are applied in a multitude of exciting areas. They are effective fluorescent probe for many potential biological and medical applications. In comparison to conventional organic fluorescent probes (organic dyes), GQDs have substantial advantages, such as photostability, excellent solubility, low cytotoxicity and biocompatibility.

    The Effect of Graphene Quantum Dots Addition in Modifying 1D ZnO Nanostructured Photocatalysts

    In this research, two type of graphene quantum dots (GQDs) have synthesized including, normal GQDs and nitrogen-doped GQDs (N-GQDs). Then, each of GQDs were deposited on the 1 dimensional zinc oxide (ZnO) nanostructures namely nanowires (NWs) and branched hierarchical (BH) systems. Then, photocatalytic activity of the samples were studied in photodegradation of methylene blue (MB) and methylene orange (MO) under visible light. The first step comprises the preparation of LCysteine functionalized magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) core-shell structures via co-precipitation method. In the second step, graphene quantum dots (GQDs), which were synthesized by citric acid carbonization, added to the functionalized MNPs and finally refluxed at the appropriate time and temperature.     Synthesis of Luminescent Carbon Dots for Selectivity Study Towards Metal Ions

    Today, the use of graphene quantum dots has been very much considered due to easy synthesis methods, strong fluorescence emission, and many sources of synthesis. In this study, the effect of changing capping agent of graphene quantum dots toward iron (Ⅲ), copper (Ⅱ) and mercury (Ⅱ) ions was studied. The linear range of response of the graphene quantum dots synthesized with ethylenediamine for mercury (Ⅱ) and iron (Ⅲ) ions was 10-70 µM, and this sensor also responded to Cu (Ⅱ) ions. In this project, we fabricated a composite of polyaniline and gelatin along with metal-organic frameworks and graphene quantum dots, which perform this repair process for us. For this purpose, we used polyaniline. Due to its conductivity, this polymer stimulates the nervous tissue and in this way, it can perform the repair work.
