The possibilities of palladium-catalyzed aromatic cyanation in aqueous media

    , Article Inorganic Chemistry Communications ; Volume 72 , 2016 , Pages 86-90 ; 13877003 (ISSN) Vafaeezadeh, M ; Mahmoodi Hashemi, M ; Karbalaie Reza, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    Elsevier
    Abstract
Owing to the inherent incompatibility with water, cyanation of aryl halides may be the most challenging category of palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions. The major challenges are attributed to the catalyst deactivation by the soluble cyanide (CN−) ions and desirable conversions only could be obtained by employing toxic organic solvents. The current minireview highlights mechanistic insights and breakthrough achievements for this reaction in the aqueous media

    Abstract
Herein, an efficient and sustainable one-pot, four-component access to rhodanine-oxindole derivatives is achieved by a reaction between primary amines, carbon disulfide, ethyl chloroacetate, and cyano-substituted alkenyl oxindoles. The reaction was conducted without any harsh conditions as well as exhausting workup in polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a green solvent at room temperature and delivered rhodanine-oxindole products in high yield. This publication is the first easy protocol to be reported for the rapid construction of new rhodanine-oxindole derivatives at room temperature without harsh conditions and via multicomponent reaction. © 2021 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC

Abstract: We report robust green synthesis of novel 1,2,3-triazole-based sulfonamides bearing different motifs such as fluorine under click conditions in presence of a copper-based magnetically recoverable and reusable heterogeneous nanocatalyst. The organocopper catalyst at 0.5 mol.% was highly recyclable (up to five times) when recovered using an external magnet without significant loss in catalytic activity. The mild reaction conditions and excellent yields (69–95 %) make this protocol an attractive method for efficient synthesis of the title compounds. The structure of product 3a was determined by Röntgen crystal structure analysis. Graphical Abstract: [Figure not available: see...

Graphene oxide (GO) sheets were synthesized through a modified Hummers' method. Using high resolution transmission electron microscopy the thickness of the GO sheets in a multilayer structure of stacked GO sheets was found ∼0.8 nm. A nanosecond pulsed laser (with wavelength of 532 nm and average power of 0.3 W) was applied for effective and environment friendly reduction of the GO sheets in an ammonia solution (pH ∼9) at room temperature conditions. The deoxygenation of the GO sheets by the pulsed laser reduction method was confirmed by using UV-visible, Fourier transform infrared, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and thermo gravimetric analysis. Based on XPS analysis, the O/C ratio of...

    Abstract
In this study, the Peganum harmala seed extract (PHSE) was used as a green reducing agent of graphene oxide with high deoxygenation capability. PHSE not only acts as a reducing agent of GO due to the high amount of nitrogen-rich compounds but also plays an essential role in the particles' active anti-corrosion performance improvement. In order to add more active inhibition property, the zinc cations were doped successfully on the chemical structure of GO nanosheets, and eventually, the RGO-PHSE-Zn nanocomposite was obtained. The FT-IR results and UV–visible achievements declared that the epoxide (-C-O-C-) functional groups attached to the surface of the GO nanosheets had been successfully...

    Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), known as highly ordered crystalline hybrid structures, are the products of coordination polymerization of transition metals and organic ligands. MOFs are best known for their extensive specific surface area, hierarchically porous and tailorable 1D, 2D, or 3D micro-and nanostructure, and acceptable biocompatibility. Because of the multiplicity of metallic and organic units used in MOFs synthesis, tailor-made MOFs can be synthesized to be served as building blocks of advanced biological materials and systems. Recently, synthesis of green MOFs has received much more attention for nanobiomedicine usage. We review herein synthesis and biomedical application of...
