    , Article Journal of Physical Chemistry C ; Volume 121, Issue 7 , 2017 , Pages 3673-3679 ; 19327447 (ISSN) Shahbazi, S ; Tsai, C. M ; Narra, S ; Wang, C. Y ; Shiu, H. S ; Afshar, S ; Taghavinia, N ; Wei Guang Diau, E. ? ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
We report a simple synthetic approach to grow uniform CH3NH3PbI3 perovskite (PSK) layers free of pinholes via varied portions of silver iodide (AgI) added to the precursor solution. XRD/EDS elemental mapping experiments demonstrated nearly uniform Ag distribution inside the perovskite film. When the 1% AgI-assisted perovskite films were fabricated into a p-i-n planar device, the photovoltaic performance was enhanced by ∼30% (PCE increased from 9.5% to 12.0%) relative to the standard cell without added AgI. Measurement of electronic properties using a hall setup indicated that perovskite films show p-type character after Ag doping, whereas the film is n-type without Ag. Transients of...

    Abstract
Organic-inorganic halide perovskites (OIHPs) have emerged as a promising semiconductor for the fabrication of efficient optoelectronic devices such as photodetectors (PDs). Among all the perovskite compositions, the mixed-halide MAPb(BrxI1-x)3 formulations have gained more attention for photodetection application thanks to their tunable optoelectronic properties and great stability. However, there is still a lack of sufficient understanding of the effect of Br doping on the stability and physical properties of MAPb(BrxI1-x)3 based PDs. In this work, we prepare a series of MAPb(BrxI1-x)3 (x = 0, 0.04, 0.08, 0.12, and 0.16) single crystals (SCs) and investigate the influence of the Br content...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Tafazoli, Saeedeh (Author) ; Mohammadi, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor) ; Seyed Reihani, Morteza (Supervisor) ; Riahi, Nastaran (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
Perovskite solar cells, with high efficiency operation, have been candidated as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly technology. Despite the great progress, there are some primarily issues remained regarding to the perovskite film and its fabrication methods. A very common perovskite cell structure is FTO/TiO2/CH3NH3PbI3/Spiro-OMeTAD/Au. Although, this structure has some advantages, lack of full surface coverage of perovskite film leads researchers to put much effort on finding other constructions. This surface inhomogeneity reduces the amount of light absorption and therefore efficiency. One way to produce a complete and uniform film is applying mixed-halide composition; such as...

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Aynehband, Samaneh (Author) ; Simchi, Abdolreza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Enhancing the detection range, sensitivity and stability of phototdetectors due to their vast applications are in great importance. In recent years, Lead sulfide quantum dots, in order to their absorption over a wide range of wavelengths including Near-infrared (NIR), multiple exciton generation effect and solution processability are promising materials. However, long organic surface ligands which are necessary in synthesis process can suppress the carrie transport and the common method to overcome this weakness, is ligand exchange process. In this way, using short organic ligands because of their low electron mobility and methylammonium lead iodide ligands in order to their instability,...

    Abstract
A new heterogeneous and highly dispersive nanocatalyst in water was prepared by the immobilization of Cu2+ onto glucose on Fe3O4. The catalyst was fully characterized by FT-IR, TGA, CHN, SEM, EDX, and atomic absorption spectroscopy. The synthesized catalyst was used in the synthesis of different derivatives of 1,2,3-triazole via a one-pot three-component reaction of alkynes, alkyl halides, and sodium azide. To the best of our knowledge, this novel catalyst adheres to the principles of green chemistry. The nanocatalyst could be recycled and reused in several runs without significant loss of activity

    Abstract
We performed density functional calculations aimed at identifying the atomistic and electronic structure origin of the valence and conduction band, and band gap tunability of halide perovskites ABX3 upon variations of the monovalent and bivalent cations A and B and the halide anion X. We found that the two key ingredients are the overlap between atomic orbitals of the bivalent cation and the halide anion, and the electronic charge on the metal center. In particular, lower gaps are associated with higher negative antibonding overlap of the states at the valence band maximum (VBM), and higher charge on the bivalent cation in the states at the conduction band minimum (CBM). Both VBM orbital...

Efficient carrier utilization induced by conductive polypyrrole additives in organic-inorganic halide perovskite solar cells

    Abstract
The morphology of the perovskite layer, the effective extraction of the charge carriers, and their transport are the main factors determining the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the perovskite solar cells (PSCs). In this work, we demonstrated that the geometric and electronic structures of the PSCs could be modified by using a conductive polymer additive in the lead (Pb) halide layer prepared by a two-step deposition method. Polypyrrole (PPy) as a conductive polymer is used in the perovskite layers which could increase the PCE of CH3NH3PbI3-xClx mixed-halide PSCs. By adding an optimized amount of PPy, PCE has been raised from 10.4 to 13.2%. PPy acts as a conductive channel facilitating...

    Abstract
Perovskite materials with ABX3 structure (A: organic, B: metal, and X: halides) have attracted tremendous attention due to their outstanding optoelectronic properties. Herein, a novel approach is developed using chemical vapor deposition (CVD), i.e., metal alloying of halide-perovskite domain via ion-transfer (MAHDI) for the growth of high-quality perovskite films, grown directly from a metal precursor. This technique easily enables us to replace the toxic Pb metal (B site) with other metals using alloying approach. Using the proposed approach, we fabricated stable and efficient Pb–In perovskite solar cells (PSCs) with a maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 21.2%, which is more...

Construction and Optimization of a Copper Chloride Laser

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Farhadi, Leila (Author) ; Sadighi Bonabi, Rasoul (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Copper vapor Laser is one of the strongest and the most efficient visible laser with high repetition rate. It has been the subject of interest in research, industrial and clinical applications. It’s oscillating lines with 510.5 and 578.2 nm between resonance level and metastable level is acting as pulsed type laser. The problem with this laser is its high operating temperature of 1500 C. This high operating temperature could be reduced by using copper halides, where the temperature decreases from 400 to 500 C. The produced heat will first produce the molecular vapors, then the release and excitation of copper occurs with electrical discharge.
In the present study the effect of...

    Cubr Laser Oscillator and Amplifier

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Osati, Alireza (Author) ; Sadighi Bonabi, Rasoul (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this dissertation, a system consisting of two oscillating and amplifier lasers was designed and constructed. The aim was to use this combination to measure important parameters of CuBr vapor laser. Therefore, two separate Thyratrons switching by a two-pulse control circuit with an arbitrary time delay have been used. Due to the sensitivity of these lasers to tube pressure, two quartz tubes with specific designs was used. This enables us to get a proper vacuum as well as to prevent from impurities in the windows, in a short range of time. In this system, the output light from oscillator is led to the amplifier and after a proper delay time, amplifying was observed.
    Based on...
