    DOA estimation of multi-reflected known signals in compact arrays

    Abstract
    For direction of arrival (DOA) estimation in compact arrays, a new approach based on time delay and amplitude estimation is presented for a known signal. The DOA can be accurately estimated without any calibration sources since the mutual coupling and multipath effects can be eliminated by the inherent mechanism of the proposed algorithm. The algorithm has significantly lower error and much less computational burden compared with the previous methods in high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) conditions

    Abstract
    We derive some bounds on the Optimum Asymptotic Multiuser Efficiency (OAME) of randomly spread CDMA as extensions of the result by Tse and Verdú. To this end, random Gaussian and random binary antipodal spreading are considered. Furthermore, the input signal is assumed to be Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK). It is shown that in a CDMA system with K-user and N chips when K and N → 8 and the loading factor, K over N, grows logarithmically with K, the OAME converges to 1 almost surely under some condition. It is also shown that a Gaussian randomly spread CDMA system has a performance close to the single user system at high Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) when the loading factor is kept less than...

    This paper studies the Gaussian two-way relay channel (GTWRC), where two nodes exchange their messages with the help of a half-duplex relay. We investigate a cooperative transmission protocol, consisting of four phases: multiple access (MA) phase, broadcast (BC) phase, and two cooperative phases. For this setup, we propose a new transmission scheme based on superposition coding for nested lattice codes, random coding, and jointly typical decoding. This scheme divides the message of each node into two parts, referred to as satellite codeword and cloud center.     A Gaussian cognitive interference channel with state (G-CICS) is studied. In this paper, we focus on the two-sender, two-receiver case and consider the communication situation in which two senders transmit a common message to two receivers. Transmitter 1 knows only message W1, and transmitter 2, referred to as the cognitive user, knows both messages W1 and W2 and also the channel’s states sequence non-causally. Receiver 1 needs to decode only W1 while receiver 2 needs to decode both messages.     Abstract
    Adaptive thresholding methods have proved to yield a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and fast convergence in sparse signal recovery. The robustness of a class of iterative sparse recovery algorithms, such as the iterative method with adaptive thresholding, has been found to outperform the state-of-art methods in respect of reconstruction quality, convergence speed, and sensitivity to noise. In this study, the authors introduce a new method for compressed sensing, using the sensing matrix and measurements.
