A comprehensive approach to abusing locality in shared web hosting servers

, Article Proceedings - 12th IEEE International Conference on Trust, Security and Privacy in Computing and Communications, TrustCom 2013, Melbourne, VIC; Australia ; July , 2013 , Pages 1620-1625 ; 9780769550220 (ISBN) Mirheidari, S. Abstract
With the growing of network technology along with the need of human for social interaction, using websites nowadays becomes critically important which leads in the increasing number of websites and servers. One popular solution for managing these large numbers of websites is using shared web hosting servers in order to decrease the overall cost of server maintenance. Despite affordability, this solution is insecure and risky according to high amount of reported defaces and attacks during recent years. In this paper, we introduce top ten most common attacks in shared web hosting servers which can occur because of the nature and bad configuration in these servers. Moreover, we present several...

Essential design considerations for wireless multi-channel photoplethysmography system

    , Article IFMBE Proceedings, 23 November 2008 through 27 November 2008, Antwerp ; Volume 22 , 2008 , Pages 1066-1069 ; 16800737 (ISSN); 9783540892076 (ISBN) Kadhim, A. Y ; Mohd Ali, M. A ; Zahedi, E ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
The developed wireless multi-channel PPG system comprises tiered communication subsystem with two sensor modules and a single base module. The sensor modules process the input signals simultaneously into 16-bit samples and wirelessly transfer them to base module using Bluetooth technology. In base module, the samples are combined using time division multiplexing into composite stream and serially forwarded to the host computer. The string buffer is implemented in the sensor module firmware to increase the transfer time, transfer samples in chunks and eliminate the wireless transmission latency. The wireless network is established between modules. The newly implemented firmware results in...

    Abstract
An autonomous hedge trimmer robot was developed to reduce the harmful effects of traditional hedge trimming method (gasoline-powered hedge trimmer) on operators' bodies and increase the speed and quality of the operation. The robot had five degrees of freedom (PRRRR) structure and was geometrically optimized to simplify the control strategy, enabling it to trim simple, stepped, and circular forms. The control system, consisting of a host computer, servo motors and servo drivers, and controller, guided the robot platform, manipulator, and end-effector as it approached and trimmed the hedge. By using a recognition algorithm and vision-based navigation system, the robot was able to detect the...
