Capture, Processing and Transmitting Images From Downhole Camera

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Saki, Mohammad (Author) ; Movahedian, Hamid (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The goal of this project, has been designing a downhole camera, which captures images from environment of a well and transmits that to the surface. High temperature and pressure of well environment and corrosion and limitation in data transmission rate which is because of mono conductor cable, are the challenges of designing this system. For doing that, first, the principles of image compression are explained. Then, based on that, an image compression system based on wavelet transform has been designed. Its components are examined too. For making the introduced system resistant to the high pressure and temperature, using an isolated case is suggested. For implementation, an...

Beam profile and image transfer study in multimode optical fiber coupling

    , Article Journal of Applied Sciences ; Volume 8, Issue 22 , 2008 , Pages 4210-4214 ; 18125654 (ISSN) Asadpour, A ; Golnabi, H ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
In this study the optical beam transfer and imaging in an optical fiber coupling is discussed. In coupling two fibers, some measurements from intensity perspective are performed and intensity profile is investigated. A theoretical model for the power transmission in fiber coupling is developed and theoretical function is compared with the experimental results. The amount of light delivered to the receiving fiber depends on the acceptance angle of the receiving fiber and the core cross sections of both fibers. Intensity profile function obtained theoretically agrees well with the measured results. The intensity variation as a function of the air gap variation is investigated in this article....

Steganalysis of Incomplete Image Using Random Fields

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Ahmadi, Aria (Author) ; Ghaemmaghami, Shahrokh (Supervisor) ; Gholampour, Iman (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
Widespread transfer of digital files over networks provides a hidden channel to transfer secret messages. Current steganalysis schemes need to work on a complete image for doing the detection job that starts when the image is entirely transferred, so are often restricted to an offline process. This restriction is serious when existence of the hidden message carriers on the network is shorter than the time required for the detection process. In this thesis, we propose a structurally fast detection method to detect the data hidden in an image passing through network. We use two of most powerful steganalysis algorithms for steganalysis of images that proposed by 1) Fridrich and Pevny and 2) Liu...
