    Abstract
    Million miles of gravity-fed drinking water and sewage pipelines around the world, especially in rural and urban areas in mountain ranges, have introduced a new renewable energy sources (RES), i.e., in-pipe hydropower systems (IHS). Output power of this technology, similar to other types of RES, suffers from intermittency, while it is still more predictable in comparison to other technologies of RESs. Scarcity of fresh water in one hand and high costs to compensate for drop in pressure and flow lines, on the other hand, detection and location of leaks have been important.     Abstract
    Defect detection in pipes is an essential task specially for sensitive applications such as oil and gas industry where special cares are required. Corrosion is a common defect in pipes which has attracted attention of researchers. In present work a non-destructive methodology for pipe corrosion monitoring is introduced. Polymer of Vinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) Piezoelectric is used as the sensor to measure strain variations affected by internal corrosion. High sensitivity and low cost of piezoelectric materials made them a good candidate for precise industrial applications.     Abstract
    Some known phenomena which cause a buried steel pipeline to fail are large ground motion and landside. Thus, many researchers have studied pipelines behavior against those phenomena with simplified assumptions in which effects of interaction between soil and pipe are not considered as well. In this study, the behavior of a pipe through Normal and Strike slip faults and contact between them are simulated close to reality with the powerful software of ABAQUS. The results from a parametric analysis on effects of those faults on buried steel pipelines show that increasing the angle between the pipe axis and fault plane (up to 90°), as well as the pipe thickness, and decreasing the burial depth...

    Abstract
    In this study, the flow patterns of air-water, two-phase flows have been investigated experimentally in a vertical mini pipe. The flow regimes were observed by a high speed video recorder in pipes with diameters of 2,3 and 4 mm and length 27, 31 and 25 cm, respectively. The comprehensive visualization of air-water, two-phase flow in a vertical mini pipe has been performed to realize the physics of such a two-phase flow. Different flow patterns of air-water flow were observed simultaneously in the mini pipe at different values of air and water flow rates.
