Performance of near-miscible simultaneous water and CO2 injection for oil recovery in secondary and tertiary modes

    Abstract
Simultaneous water and CO2 injection has been performed on a sandstone core to evaluate oil recovery under the secondary and tertiary near-miscible injection modes. It is demonstrated that secondary SWACO2 injection as well as tertiary flood is an effective method for the oil/residual oil recovery from oil saturated/water-flooded porous media. In the secondary SWACO2 injection, the ultimate oil recovery increases by increasing SWAG ratio from 0.2 to 0.4 but due to some limits, e.g. topological effects, prohibiting contacting of injected gas with residual oil in pores, altering SWAG ratio from 0.4 to 0.6 showed no effect on ultimate oil recovery. Secondary SWACO2 injection can recover higher...

    Abstract
This paper proposes a design technique for the implementation of a class-EM power amplifier (PA). Class- EM mode of operation has been proposed as an improved version of class-E in terms of efficiency and power gain, provided that the current fall time of switch is an appreciable portion of a period; the frequency of operation is high enough that the switching time of transistor can no longer be considered instantaneous. A novel approach for harmonic injection required for class-EM operation is proposed, followed by the system of equations and the design methodology governing the proposed circuit. As a proof of concept and verification of the proposed design method, a class-EM PA is designed...

    Abstract
In this study, the main recovery mechanisms behind oil/water/gas interactions during the water-alternating-gas (WAG) injection process, in a network of matrix/fracture, were fundamentally investigated. A visual micromodel was utilized to provide insights into the potential applications of WAG process in fractured oil-wet media as well as the possibility of observing microscopic displacement behavior of fluids in the model. The model was made of an oil-wet facture/matrix network system, comprised of four matrix blocks surrounded with fractures. Different WAG injection scenarios, such as slug arrangements and the effects of fluid injection rates on oil recovery were studied. A new equation...
