    Abstract
Multi-label classification is a learning task in which each data sample can belong to more than one class. Until now, some methods that are based on reducing the dimensionality of the label space have been proposed. However, these methods have not used specific properties of the label space for this purpose. In this paper, we intend to find a hidden space in which both the input feature vectors and the label vectors are embedded. We propose a modified Non-Negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) method that is suitable for decomposing the label matrix and finding a proper hidden space by a feature-aware approach. We consider that the label matrix is binary and also in this matrix some deserving...

Improvements in audio classification based on sinusoidal modeling

    , Article 2008 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo, ICME 2008, Hannover, 23 June 2008 through 26 June 2008 ; 2008 , Pages 1485-1488 ; 9781424425716 (ISBN) Shirazi, J ; Ghaemmaghami, S ; Razzazi, F ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
In this paper, a set of features is presented and evaluated based on sinusoidal modeling of audio signals. Amplitude, frequency, and phase parameters of the sinusoidal model are used and compared as input features into an audio classifier system. The performance of sinusoidal model features is evaluated for classification of audio into speech and music classes using both the Gaussian and the GMM (Gaussian Mixture Model) classifiers. Experimental results show superiority of the amplitude parameters of the sinusoidal model, which could be used for the first time for such an audio classification, as compared to the popular cepstral features. By using a set of 40 sinusoidal features, we achieved...

    Abstract
Up to now, different methods have been developed for estimation of buildup factor (BF). However, either expensive estimation or time-consuming estimation are major restrictions/challenges of these methods. In this study a new technique utilizing combination of Monte Carlo method and the Bayesian regularization (BR) learning algorithm of multilayer feed-forward neural network (FFNN) is employed for estimation of BFs. First, the BFs of the different elements (i.e. Al, Cu, and Fe) at different energies and different mean free paths (MFPs) are modeled by the MCNP code. The results show that the calculated BFs by MCNP code are in good agreement with the reported values of American nuclear society...
