Abstract
Today, research on automatic text summarization challenges on readability factor as one of the most important aspects of summarizers' performance. In this paper, we present Pazesh: a language-independent graph-based approach for increasing the readability of summaries while preserving the most important content. Pazesh accomplishes this task by constructing a special path of salient sentences which passes through topic centroid sentences. Abstract
In this paper we propose a new architecture based on Z-order curve and kd-tree that can efficiently handle issues related to update messages distribution to interested entities' locations in a three-dimensional (3D) virtual environments where locations are described in terms of 3D coordinates. We also aim to minimize the number of routing hops in distribution of update messages, especially when updates are forwarded to a specific range of users/entities in the virtual environment. Our results are promising and show improvements in both of the objectives. ©2009 IEEE

Abstract
The correct quantification of porosity is essential in all studies pertaining to porous media. A host of existing works employs a constant, bulk value for porosity, even when the porous sample is attached to a free fluid. Since the volume fraction of the solid matrix near the interface region differs from that in the core, the porosity undergoes a spatial variation. Here we present a novel relation for the porosity as a function of depth below the interface, using the concept of surface roughness applied on the classical definition of open porosity. Abstract
The inter-subject variability poses a challenge in cross-subject Brain-Computer Interface learning and classification. As a matter of fact, in cross-subject learning not all available subjects may improve the performance on a test subject. In order to address this problem we propose a subject selection algorithm and we investigate the use of this algorithm in the Riemannian geometry classification framework. Abstract
The possibility of electromagnetic slow wave propagation in dielectric slab waveguides, when free two-dimensional interface charge layers are generated at film-substrate and film-cover interfaces, is already explored. In this paper, the propagation of electromagnetic slow waves supported by induced charge layers of nonzero thickness, whose induced charge densities have Gaussian profiles, is investigated for the first time. A structured design of Subscriber Line Interface System and Circuit will be described. A high level synthesis allows extracting overall system and circuit requirements to satisfy the desired specifications, standards, and a robust implementation. For this purpose, first the output driving stage will be analyzed and then, dc, ac, and longitudinal balance feedbacks will be considered. Then based on extracted system specifications, optimum circuit design of line-driver will be described. There is a great deal of interest in the manufacturing industry for quantitative measures of process performance with multiple quality characteristics. Unfortunately, multivariate process capability indices that are currently employed, except for a handful of cases, depend intrinsically on the underlying data being normally distributed. In this paper, the extended finite element method is presented for large elasto-plastic deformation of continuum problems. The X-FEM computational algorithm is presented in the framework of Lagrangian description in order to model the arbitrary interfaces in large deformations. In this paper, a low energy yet reliable communication scheme for network-on-chip is suggested. To reduce the communication energy consumption, we invoke low-swing signals for transmitting data, as well as data encoding techniques, for minimizing both self and coupling switching capacitance activity factors. Massively Multiuser Virtual Environment (MMVE) applications have the challenge of update message exchange among a large number of users. Real-time collaboration in the virtual environments requires the updates to be exchanged with the minimum end-to-end latency and overhead.
