    Abstract
    An analytical solution is presented that reconstructs residual stress field from limited and incomplete data. The inverse problem of reconstructing residual stresses is solved using an appropriate form of the airy stress function. This function is chosen to satisfy the stress equilibrium equations together with the boundary conditions for a domain within a convex polygon. The analytical solution is demonstrated by developing a reference solution from which selected "measurement" points are used. An artificial error is then randomly added to "measurement" points for studying the stability of the reconstruction method utilizing Tikhonov- Morozov regularization technique.     A new method for the shape reconstruction of conducting cylinders from the measured data based on the cubic uniform B-splines was discussed. B-Spline was defined by an ordered set of control points which determined the shape of the curve. A direct problem was formulated using standard integral equations that were solved using method of moments. Principal polarization were treated separately.     We propose a novel inverse method that utilizes a set of data to construct a simple equation that governs the stochastic process for which the data have been measured, hence enabling us to reconstruct the stochastic process. As an example, we analyze the stochasticity in the beat-to-beat fluctuations in the heart rates of healthy subjects as well as those with congestive heart failure.     The orientation of a conducting target was estimated with a generalized regression neural network (GRNN) network using back-scattered data. Steps made to provide the training data sets by a computer code using method of moments were investigated. Noisy data sets were provided to improve the system generalization. The GRNN target orientation estimation and its performance was evaluated and the robustness was verified against target scaling, target deformation, sensor misplacements and introduction of noise with different S/N into sensor measurements

In this work the relative permeability of CO2 and oil has been measured at different miscibility conditions using conventional methods.
