    Thermodynamic study of Cr+3 ions removal by "MnO2 /MWCNT" nanocomposite

    Abstract
    In this research "MnO2/MWCNT" nanocomposite was prepared firstly and then it was used as an adsorbent for Cr+3 ions removal from aqueous solutions. Our results showed that the prepared nanocomposite from modified multi-wall carbon nanotube and MnO2 has a good capacity for Cr+3 removal from aqueous solution. Morphology and Crystallinity of the modified MWCNT before and after deposition on MnO2 were examined by SEM and XRD. In turn, the experimental results were examined according to the Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin Isotherms and Freundlich isotherm represented our experimental results

    Abstract

    In uranium conversion industry, the fluorine is used as chemical raw material gas to produce UF4 and UF6 while its purity is very important. In this study, the adsorption process of hydrogen fluoride, as an impurity in the process of fluorine production, on sodium fluoride pellets is experimentally studied in a lab-scale fixed bed adsorbent. Also, the effects of some operating parameters including inlet concentration and inlet temperature of hydrogen fluoride are precisely investigated on the adsorption process.     Abstract
    A two-step pack cementation technique was used to cover nickel-based IN-738LC superalloy with a Cr-aluminide coating layer. The IN-738LC/Cr-aluminide samples were oxidized at 900 °C for 350 and 700 h, isothermally, and 175 and 350 h, cyclically. Each cycle lasted for 25 h. Effects of the isothermal and the cyclic oxidation on (a) morphology, (b) new-phase formation, (c) weight gain, and (d) oxidation reactions were investigated by scanning electron microscopy, electron dispersive spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and weight gain measurements.     Preparation and evaluation of chitosan-coated eggshell (CTS-ES) particles as a biosorbent for removal of Cu(II) ions from aqueous media was considered in this research. For this purpose, chitosan was coated on eggshell (ES) particles through precipitation procedure. The coated particles were characterized by Fourier transform infrared, thermogravimetric analysis, and field emission scanning electron microscopy analysis. Kinetic studies showed that coating of chitosan on ES particles improved their Cu(II) adsorption capacity.     Abstract
    In this article, adsorption of p-xylene, m-xylene, o-xylene, and ethylbenzene on Na-BETA type zeolite in liquid phase at 15, 25, and 35 °C has been studied and the single adsorption isotherms have been obtained and reported. The Langmuir isotherm model was used to describe the experimental adsorption isotherm data. It was found that p-xylene is more strongly adsorbed component followed by ethylbenzene, m-xylene and o-xylene. This means that this adsorbent is selective for p-xylene. Velocity and surfactant concentration profiles of the liquid around a bubble exposed in flow field were estimated via unsteady CFD solution.
