    Abstract
With the significant role that warehouse plays in connection to suppliers, distributors, and clients, and considering the costliness of storage systems, efforts have focused on the reduction of procedural expenses. Among the most significant expenses, one involves the distance traveled by operators or S/R machinery for the selection of ordered items; the common solution to which has been through the classification of stored items. Previous articles have focused on linear solutions to the abovementioned problem, such as P-Median. This article shall focus on the problems arising from the said solution, and instead a non-linear method proposed. Further, a heuristic algorithm is produced for the...

Effects of tip mass and interaction force on nonlinear behavior of force modulation FM-AFM cantilever

    Abstract
Influences of the tip mass, excitation mode of Frequency Modulated Atomic Force Microscope (FM-AFM) on the resonance frequency shift in force modulation (FM) mode are studied. Governing equations of motion are determined based on Timoshenko beam model with concentrated end mass. Approach point and base amplitude are set such that the FM-AFM remains just in FM mode. Either the linearized and nonlinear Derjaguin-Muller-Toporov (DMT) model are investigated. Then frequency shifts are determined for various interaction force regimes. It is showed the effect of tip mass on frequency shift is significant even for small tips. Nonlinear model shows lower frequency shifts in comparison with linearized...

Dynamic analysis of an inclined Timoshenko beam traveled by successive moving masses/forces with inclusion of geometric nonlinearities

    Abstract
In the first part of this paper, the nonlinear coupled governing partial differential equations of vibrations by including the bending rotation of cross section, longitudinal and transverse displacements of an inclined pinned-pinned Timoshenko beam made of linear, homogenous and isotropic material with a constant cross section and finite length subjected to a traveling mass/force with constant velocity are derived. To do this, the energy method (Hamilton's principle) based on the large deflection theory in conjuncture with the von-Karman strain-displacement relations is used. These equations are solved using the Galerkin's approach via numerical integration methods to obtain dynamic...

    Abstract
In this study, the nonlinear vibrations analysis of an inclined pinned-pinned self-weight Timoshenko beam made of linear, homogenous and isotropic material with a constant cross section and finite length subjected to a traveling mass/force with constant velocity is investigated. The nonlinear coupled partial differential equations of motion for the rotation of warped cross section, longitudinal and transverse displacements are derived using the Hamilton's principle. These nonlinear coupled PDEs are solved by applying the Galerkin's method to obtain dynamic responses of the beam. The dynamic magnification factor and normalized time histories of mid-point of the beam are obtained for various...

Nonlinear vibrations of an inclined beam subjected to a moving load

    , Article Journal of Physics: Conference Series, 8 September 2009 through 10 September 2009, Cambridge ; Volume 181, Issue 1 , 2009 ; 17426588 (ISSN) Mamandi, A ; Kargarnovin, M ; Younesian, D ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
In this paper, the nonlinear dynamic responses of an inclined pinned-pinned Euler-Bernoulli beam with a constant cross section and finite length subjected to a concentrated vertical force traveling with constant velocity is investigated by using the mode summation method. Frequency analysis of the PDE's governing equations of motion for steady-state response is studied by applying multiple scales method. The nonlinear dynamic deflections of the beam are obtained by solving two coupled nonlinear PDE's governing equations of planar motion for both longitudinal and transverse oscillations of the beam. The dynamic magnification factor and normalized time histories of mid-point of the beam are...
