    Abstract
In this study, design and operation of a cylindrical capacitive sensor based on the dielectric and reactance capacitance changes of the gap medium is reported. The proposed system was used to determine the electrical properties of different water liquids as a result of the capacitance variations. For capacitance measurement, the cylindrical gap can be filled up by water liquids under study, the electrical characteristics of different water liquids, mixture of ethanol and water, mixture of methanol and water, mixture of petroleum and water and other liquid mixtures were studied. In this research a big difference about 16200 nF was noticed in the measured capacitance of the corresponding...

Stability analysis of whirling composite shells partially filled with two liquid phases

    , Article Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology ; Volume 31, Issue 5 , 2017 , Pages 2117-2127 ; 1738494X (ISSN) Sahebnasagh, M ; Nikkhah Bahrami, M ; Firouz Abadi, R ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
In this paper, the stability of whirling composite cylindrical shells partially filled with two liquid phases is studied. Using the first-order shear shell theory, the structural dynamics of the shell is modeled and based on the Navier-Stokes equations for ideal liquid, a 2D model is developed for liquid motion at each section of the cylinder. In steady state condition, liquids are supposed to locate according to mass density. In this study, the thick shells are investigated. Using boundary conditions between liquids, the model of coupled fluid-structure system is obtained. This coupled fluid-structure model is employed to determine the critical speed of the system. The effects of the main...

Evaluation of partial least-squares regression with multivariate analytical figures of merit for determination of 10 pesticides in milk

    Abstract
A multi-residue method using gas chromatography coupled with flame ionisation detector has been developed for simultaneous determination of 10 pesticides in milk. The methodology involved a sample clean-up procedure using ‘quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged and safe’ followed by a preconcentration step based on dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction. In this regard, acetonitrile was added to the milk sample with specific pH and ionic strength, and the mixture was rigorously shaken. The extracts were centrifuged; then, the organic phase (acetonitrile) was transferred to a test tube and was mixed with deionised water. The mixture was sonicated and chloroform was added as an acceptor phase...

    Abstract
Ionic liquids are a significant type of organic salts with attractive and superior physicochemical features for employing in a number of chemical processes. Ionic liquids include one large and asymmetric cationic or anionic functional group. The properties of cationic functional group are almost similar and it is main motivation of this study. In the present investigation, we extended various semi-empirical correlations to predict some temperature-based properties of ionic liquids mixture (IL-mixture). These properties are density, viscosity, surface tension and bubble point pressure. In the case of IL-mixture density, modified Rackett equation and Taylor equation with three scenarios,...
