    Abstract
Oxidation of a variety of organic compounds, using Mn-porphyrin, mesotetrakis(4-hydroxyphenyl)porphyrinatomanganese(III), supported onto functionalized silica-coated magnetic nanoparticles via “Click” reaction has been investigated. The heterogeneous catalyst was characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), FT-IR spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP/OES) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) demonstrated that the prepared catalyst was thermally stable to almost 300 °C, exhibiting high thermostability of the nanocatalyst over a broad range of temperatures. This...

A novel highly dispersive magnetic nanocatalyst in water : Glucose as an efficient and green ligand for the immobilization of copper(II) for the cycloaddition of alkynes to azides

    Abstract
A new heterogeneous and highly dispersive nanocatalyst in water was prepared by the immobilization of Cu2+ onto glucose on Fe3O4. The catalyst was fully characterized by FT-IR, TGA, CHN, SEM, EDX, and atomic absorption spectroscopy. The synthesized catalyst was used in the synthesis of different derivatives of 1,2,3-triazole via a one-pot three-component reaction of alkynes, alkyl halides, and sodium azide. To the best of our knowledge, this novel catalyst adheres to the principles of green chemistry. The nanocatalyst could be recycled and reused in several runs without significant loss of activity

Highly stable magnetically separable copper nanocatalyst as an efficient catalyst for C(sp2)-C(sp) and C(sp2)-C(sp2) cross-coupling reactions

    Abstract
A copper catalyst has been explored as an efficient and recyclable catalyst to effect Sonogashira and Suzuki cross-coupling reactions. After modification of 2-(((piperazin-1-ylmethyl)imino)methyl)phenol (PP) on the surface of amorphous silica-coated iron oxide (Fe3O4@SiO2@Cl) magnetic core-shell nanocomposite, copper(II) chloride was employed to synthesize the Fe3O4@SiO2@PP-Cu catalyst, affording a copper loading of 1.52 mmol g-1. High yield, low reaction times, non-toxicity and recyclability of the catalyst are the main merits of this protocol. The catalyst was characterized using Fourier transform infrared, X-ray photoelectron, energy-dispersive X-ray and inductively coupled plasma optical...

Green and selective oxidation of alcohols by immobilized Pd onto triazole functionalized Fe 3O 4 magnetic nanoparticles

    , Article Journal of Chemical Sciences ; 2018 ; 09743626 (ISSN) Dadras, A ; Naimi Jamal, M. R ; Matloubi Moghaddam, F ; Ayati, S. E ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Abstract: Carbonyl compounds were prepared by selective oxidation of alcohols in the presence of recoverable Fe 3O 4@ SiO 2@ Pd magnetic nanocatalyst in aqueous media as a green solvent. Molecular oxygen served as an oxidant. The catalyst was removed from the reaction media by external magnetic field, washed with methanol, and reused for six more times without any considerable reduction in its reactivity. The chemoselectivity and regioselectivity of the catalyst can serve for selective oxidation of primary alcohols in the presence of secondary ones, and for oxidation of unhindered alcohols in the presence of hindered ones. Graphical Abstract: Selective and facile oxidation of alcohols to...

Synthesis, characterization and catalytic activity of supported vanadium Schiff base complex as a magnetically recoverable nanocatalyst in epoxidation of alkenes and oxidation of sulfides

    , Article Journal of Organometallic Chemistry ; Volume 897 , 2019 , Pages 200-206 ; 0022328X (ISSN) Bagherzadeh, M ; Bahjati, M ; Mortazavi Manesh, A ; Sharif University of Technology
    Elsevier B.V  2019
    Abstract
A new magnetically separable nanocatalyst was successfully synthesized by immobilizing of vanadyl acetylacetonate complex, [VO(acac)2], onto silica coated magnetite nanoparticles previously functionalized with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (3-APTES) and reacted by 5-bromosalicylaldehyde to form Schiff base moiety. The obtained nanocatalyst was characterized by elemental analysis (CHN), FT-IR spectroscopy, Powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Eventually, the resulting nanoparticles were used as catalyst for epoxidation of alkenes and...

Design and application of (Fe3O4)-GOTfOH based AgNPs doped starch/PEG-poly (acrylic acid) nanocomposite as the magnetic nanocatalyst and the wound dress

    , Article Journal of Molecular Structure ; Volume 1214 , 2020 Forouzandehdel, S ; Meskini, M ; Rami, M. R ; Sharif University of Technology
    Elsevier B.V  2020
    Abstract
As a novel, recyclable nanocatalyst, (Fe3O4)-GOTfOH based Ag nanoparticles doped Starch/PEG-poly (acrylic acid) nanocomposite (Fe3O4@GOTfOH/Ag/St-PEG-AcA) was applied for one-pot synthesis of 2,4,6-triarylpyridine derivatives under water solvent conditions. The prepared nanocomposite was also evaluated in terms of biocompatibility for wound healing. Fe3O4@GOTfOH/Ag/St-PEG-AcA could be easily removed from the mixture of the reaction by an external magnet and recycled without a considerable decrease of activity even after 10 runs. The new nanocatalyst offered better efficiencies than other commercially available sulfonic acid catalysts. In terms of the bioactivity of nanocatalyst, good...
