    Abstract
Identifying and tracking goods in the supply chain is one of the most important factors influencing supply chain management. This paper is trying to determine the effects of applying radio frequency identification (RFID) to identify items in the supply chain of manufacturing enterprises. To this aim, in this paper, at first, a comprehensive literature review and experts' judgments are employed to identify possible influential factors, and then a questionnaire is conducted for evaluating these factors. This questionnaire filled by about 200 experts of using RFID in manufacturing enterprise. Filled questionnaire used for examination of statistical hypothesis, which examine the impact of this...

A novel solution for manufacturing interoperability fulfillment using interoperability service providers

    , Article 50th CIRP Conference on Manufacturing Systems, CIRP CMS 2017, 3 May 2017 through 5 May 2017 ; Volume 63 , 2017 , Pages 774-779 ; 22128271 (ISSN) Delaram, J ; Fatahi Valilai, O ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
The cloud manufacturing paradigm has been known as one of the best solutions for today's competitive manufacturing environments. This paradigm insists on using a manufacturing service oriented approach for fulfilling the manufacturing enterprise resource management by the access to global availability of manufacturing services. The proposed service oriented approach covers a wide area of manufacturing resource management from infrastructures to platforms and applications. However, due to wide global distributions of manufacturing clouds, the service oriented architectures which are designed in the clouds cannot communicate with each other. This is mainly due to concentration of cloud...

A Novel Framework for Virtual Computer Integrated Manufacturing Paradigm Using Axiomatic Design Theory

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Delaram, Jalal (Author) ; Fatahi Valilai, Omid (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Nowadays, the manufacturing environments have been faced with the globalization paradigm. This paradigm urges the new necessities for manufacturing environments like concentration on customer demands, focus on increase of quality and its continuous improving trend and shortening the products’ lifecycle. These necessities have been considered by many researchers and have led to different ideas in the field of effective and efficient product development and after sales services. Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) is known as the major research field for study, development and proposal of effective IT solutions to fulfill the aforementioned necessities. This research filed has resulted to...

Development of a novel solution to enable integration and interoperability for cloud manufacturing

    , Article 6th International Conference on Changeable, September 2016 through 6 September 2016 ; Volume 52 , 2016 , Pages 6-11 ; 22128271 (ISSN) Delaram, J ; Fatahi Valilai, Omid ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Nowadays, manufacturing enterprises have been faced with a globalized competitive environment. In this fierce condition, Cloud Manufacturing paradigm emerged as a promising concept for competition. It provides effective solutions and tools for manufacturing enterprises to collaborate in globalized market. The revolution that Cloud Manufacturing has created is based on the redefinition of the classic methods to those which are appropriate for todays' modern and globalized manufacturing environments. In parallel with cloud-based revolution, the expansion of internet-based technologies has been started. These technologies previously have been applied in many fields and resulted in...

A novel model for optimisation of logistics and manufacturing operation service composition in Cloud manufacturing system focusing on cloud-entropy

    Abstract
In recent years, economic globalisation and manufacturing resource globalisation as two key factors have driven enterprises to transform their business processes to survive in competitive environments. This transformation is challenging as manufacturing enterprises should maintain their support for their customers with high-quality products, lower cost, product customisation capabilities, and quick delivery. Moreover, globalisation has resulted in geographically distributed suppliers across the globe. This challenge will turn into a major research topic when paradigms like Cloud manufacturing are introduced. Cloud manufacturing is a new paradigm which provides ubiquitous, convenient,...

Topology analysis of manufacturing service supply–demand hyper-network considering QoS properties in the cloud manufacturing system

    Abstract
Cloud Manufacturing (CMfg), a new manufacturing paradigm, enables an opportunity for manufacturing enterprises to respond to a wide variety of demands. The CMfg concept integrates the distributed resources and capacities in a shared economy, transfers them to the virtual manufacturing services with various quality of service (QoS) properties. These services are invoked to collaborate in producing customized demands with specific functional and non-functional properties. The operational perspective of the service-demand matching problem is considered more in the literature; however, it is a challenging problem in the CMfg ecosystem. This paper evaluates the service-demand matching problem...
