    Abstract
Crosstalk due to the capacitive and inductive coupling has adverse effect on the circuit performance. In this paper crosstalk voltage and its induced power are studied for a stochastic environment bus with specific physical structure. Input switching pattern, driver, and load are swept in wide range for VLSI application to study crosstalk variation. Crosstalk and power is extracted to drive mean and standard deviation for implemented structures. The crosstalk mean and its induced power get lower with increasing of the load and driver resistance. This phenomenon is proportional to shrinking the technology

T wave alternans detection in ECG using extended kalman filter and dualrate EKF

    , Article European Signal Processing Conference ; 1-5 September , 2014 , pp. 2500-2504 ; ISSN: 22195491 ; ISBN: 9780992862619 Akhbari, M ; Shamsollahi, M. B ; Jutten, C ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
T Wave Alternans (TWA) is considered as an indicator of Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD). In this paper for TWA detection, a method based on a nonlinear dynamic model is presented. For estimating the model parameters, we use an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF). We propose EKF6 and dualrate EKF6 approaches. Dualrate EKF is suitable for modeling the states which are not updated in all time instances. Quantitative and qualitative evaluations of the proposed method have been done on TWA challenge database. We compare our method with that proposed by Sieed et al. in TWA challenge 2008. We also compare our method with our previous proposed approach (EKF25-4obs). Results show that the proposed method can...

GEPSO: A new generalized particle swarm optimization algorithm

    Abstract
Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is a nature-inspired meta-heuristic that has been utilized as a powerful optimization tool in a wide range of applications since its inception in 1995. Due to the flexibility of its parameters and concepts, PSO has appeared in many variants, probably more than any other meta-heuristic algorithm. This paper introduces the Generalized Particle Swarm Optimization (GEPSO) algorithm as a new version of the PSO algorithm for continuous space optimization, which enriches the original PSO by incorporating two new terms into the velocity updating equation. These terms aim to deepen the interrelations of particles and their knowledge sharing, increase...

    Abstract
The automatic detection of Electrocardiogram (ECG) waves is important to cardiac disease diagnosis. A good performance of an automatic ECG analyzing system depends heavily upon the accurate and reliable detection of QRS complex, as well as P and T waves. In this paper, we propose an efficient method for extraction of characteristic points of ECG signal. The method is based on a nonlinear dynamic model, previously introduced for generation of synthetic ECG signals. For estimating the parameters of model, we use an Extendend Kalman Filter (EKF). By introducing a simple AR model for each of the dynamic parameters of Gaussian functions in model and considering separate states for ECG waves, the...

    Abstract
Background: Comparison of the kinematic variability and dynamic stability of the trunk between healthy and low back pain patient groups can contribute to gaining valuable information about the movement patterns and neuromotor strategies involved in various movement tasks. Methods: Fourteen chronic low back pain patients with mild symptoms and twelve healthy male volunteers performed repeated trunk flexion-extension movements in the sagittal plane at three different speeds: 20 cycles/min, self-selected, and 40 cycles/min. Mean standard deviations, coefficient of variation and variance ratio as variability measures; maximum finite-time Lyapunov exponents and maximum Floquet multipliers as...
