    Abstract
By making aligned and suspended copper nanowires, a high performance, transferable, and flexible transparent electrode is reported. Indium tin oxide is often used in devices such as displays, solar cells, and touchscreens that require transparent and conductive plates. Because of problems such as brittleness, high cost, and environmental effects, this material is facing rivals, the most serious of which are metallic nanowire meshes, especially copper. We developed a simple technique which uses a U-shaped collector in the electrospinning process with three advantages including the enhancement of the figure of merit (which is related to the surface resistance Rs and the transmittance T) by...

    Abstract
In this work, a novel and facile synthesis process to fabricate single crystalline organometal halide perovskite nanowires has been successfully developed. Nanowires were grown in a high density ordered array from metal nanoclusters inside anodic aluminum oxide templates using a non-catalytic chemical vapor deposition method. Specifically, perovskite NWs were grown as a result of the reaction between methylammonium iodide (MAI) and the Pb/Sn (Pb or Sn) metal in anodic aluminum oxide templates under optimal conditions. The characterization results show that there is a reaction zone at the interface between the perovskite material and metal, at the bottom of the anodic aluminum oxide...

Fabrication and Characterization of Transparent and Flexible Conductive Layers Based on Copper Nanofibers

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Nikzad Alhosseini, Mohammad Javad (Author) ; Sadrnezhad, Khatiboleslam (Supervisor) ; Mahdavi, Mohammad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The Transparent electrode (transparent conductive layer) is an essential component of electro-optical devices, especially screens, solar cells and touch screens. Today, most semiconductor oxides such as ITO are used for this purpose, which have problems such as inflexibility, high cost, environmental degradation and ion penetration in organic displays. In this research, the design, simulation and fabrication of a transparent electrode with a network of metal nanowires with low resistance between cross fibers and high aspect ratio during the production stages of polymer mold, metal coating and characterization has been done. Using the reducing atmosphere in the sputtering chamber, the...

Diffusion-controlled growth model for electrodeposited cobalt nanowires in highly ordered aluminum oxide membrane

    , Article ECS Transactions, 25 April 2010 through 30 April 2010, Vancouver, BC ; Volume 28, Issue 17 , 2010 , Pages 13-25 ; 19385862 (ISSN) ; 9781607681939 (ISBN) Ghahremaninezhad, A ; Dolati, A ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
This work studies the electrochemical growth behavior of cobalt nanowires in highly ordered aluminum oxide membrane. Considering the electrodeposition of metallic nanowires, cation concentration profile in each nano pore was calculated. With assumption of linear diffusion zone on the growing surface of nanowires, a modified Cottrell equation was evaluated. To confirm the model, the Co nanowires were electrodeposited into porous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) templates and the mechanism of deposition was studied. Comparing the results of model and the experiments has proved the accuracy of the model. Also, it was observed that the growth of the Co nanowires was controlled mainly by diffusion...

Fabrication of metal nanowires based on self assembly of tryptophan-capped gold nanoparticle onto DNA network template

    , Article International Journal of Nanotechnology ; Volume 6, Issue 10-11 , 2009 , Pages 1041-1049 ; 14757435 (ISSN) Sheikholeslami, Z ; Vossoughi, M ; Alemzadeh, I ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
In this study, synthesis of conductive metal nanowires by using aligned and immobilised DNA strand on solid substrate is reported. The nanoporous gold film was prepared by electrostatic self assembly of gold nanoparticles capped with tryptophan. Tryptophan would improve surface properties of gold nanoparticles for strongly attaching to DNA. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy confirmed that gold nanoparticles have been capped by tryptophan. Also measured zeta potential shows that there are positive charges on the surface of gold nanoparticles. Investigations by AFM observati on substantially confirm that tryptophan-capped gold nanoparticles can be bonded to DNA template...

Mechano-chemical AFM nanolithography of metallic thin films: A statistical analysis

    , Article Current Applied Physics ; Volume 10, Issue 4 , 2010 , Pages 1203-1210 ; 15671739 (ISSN) Akhavan, O ; Abdolahad, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
A mechano-chemical atomic force microscope (AFM) nanolithography on a metallic thin film (50 nm in thickness) covered by a spin-coated soft polymeric mask layer (50-60 nm in thickness) has been introduced. The surface stochastic properties of initial grooves mechanically patterned on the mask layer (grooves before chemical wet-etching) and the lithographed patterns on the metallic thin film (the grooves after chemical wet-etching) have been investigated and compared by using the structure factor, power spectral density, and AFM tip deconvolution analyses. The effective shape of cross section of the before and after etching grooves have been determined by using the tip deconvolution surface...
