    Abstract
We describe a nanocomposite prepared from polydopamine, silver nanoparticles, and polypyrrole (PDA-Ag-PPy) that can be used for the microextraction in packed syringe (MEPS) of tricyclic antidepressants from urine samples. The PDA-Ag-PPy composite was prepared in-situ by the reduction of silver ion - doped PPy during oxidative polymerization of dopamine. The PDA-Ag coatings on the nanoribbon – shaped PPy represent a highly porous, inorganic–organic hybrid nanomaterial that has a wide range of applications. The nanocomposite was characterized by FTIR and scanning electron microscopy. It is shown to be an efficient sorbent for the MEPS of the tricyclic antidepressants amitriptyline, imipramine...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Alipour, Noshin (Author) ; Bagheri, Habib (Supervisor)
    Abstract
A simple, fast and sensitive method based on microextraction in packed syringe (MEPS), a new format of solid-phase extraction (SPE), as a sample preparation technique in off-line combination with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was developed. Polyaniline (PANI) nanowire network was synthesized and used as sorbent of MEPS for the multiresidue determination of selected analytes from triazine, organochlrorine and organophosphorous pesticides in aqueous samples. The PANI nanowires network was prepared using soft template technique and its characterization was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The use of micelles in this methodology has an important role in the shape of...

Development of Novel Microextraction Methods Based on Nanostructured Sorbents

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Ayazi Khorehbelagh, Zahra (Author) ; Bagheri, Habib (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Preparation and application of nanostructured sorbents for microextraction of some environmental pollutants and pesticides are the bases of this research. The first part of thesis deals with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and their relevant nanocomposites using silica and conductive polymer matrix as extracting media. While, the second part involves the preparation of nanofibers and nanowires and they were applied for extraction of some selected pesticide from aquatic samples.
In the first work of part one, CNTs chemically bonded on modified gold substrate was used as novel unbreakable solid phase microextraction fiber for isolation of diazinon and fenthion, as model compounds. Parameters...

Synthesis and Application of Nanocomposites Containing Metallic Nanoparticles for Microextraction of Environmental and Biological Samples

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Banihashemi, Solmaz (Author) ; Bagheri, Habib (Supervisor)
    Abstract
This thesis deals with the synthesis and characterization of some nanostructured conductive polymers and their applications toward microextraction of drugs, environmental pollutants and pesticides from aqueous and biological samples. In chapters 3–6, silver nanoparticles and their relevant nanocomposites were applied as the desired extracting media while in the last chapter, a polyaniline nanocomposite, containing titanium oxide nanoparticles, was synthesized and employed as an efficient medium for the extraction purposes. In the first work, a nanocomposite based on polyaniline-silver nanoparticles (PANI-Ag NPs) was synthesized and used as an extraction medium for microextraction in packed...

Silver nanoparticles-polyaniline nanocomposite for microextraction in packed syringe

    , Article Chromatographia ; Vol. 77, issue. 5-6 , 2014 , pp. 397-403 ; ISSN: 00095893 Bagheri, H ; Banihashemi, S ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
A rapid, convenient and reliable method for microextraction in packed syringe (MEPS) of the loop diuretic furosemide (FUR) in urine along with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was developed. A nanocomposite based on silver nanoparticles/polyaniline (Ag-NPs/PANI) was synthesized and used as the MEPS packing material. This nanocomposite was prepared conveniently using interfacial polymerization without the need for any templates or functional dopants. The feasibility of the synthesized nanocomposites was examined by isolation of FUR from diluted urine samples. After extraction, the analyte was desorbed by 200 μL of methanol. It was then dried and the residue was dissolved in 30 μL...

Polypyrrole/polyamide electrospun-based sorbent for microextraction in packed syringe of organophosphorous pesticides from aquatic samples

    , Article Journal of Separation Science ; Volume 35, Issue 1 , December , 2012 , Pages 114-120 ; 16159306 (ISSN) Bagheri, H ; Ayazi, Z ; Aghakhani, A ; Alipour, N ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
A novel method based on microextraction in packed syringe (MEPS) as sample preparation technique coupled off-line with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was developed using electrospun nanofibers as sorbent. For electrospinning of polypyrrole/polyamide-based nanofiber, a homogeneous solution containing nylon 6, ferric chloride and pyrrole monomer was prepared and then was drawn into a 2.5-mL syringe. By applying a voltage of 13akV between the needle of the syringe and an aluminum-foil collector, the nanofibers could be formed on the surface of the collector. The prepared sheet was used as the sorbent for MEPS to analyze some selected organophosphorous pesticides. Important parameters...

An imprinted interpenetrating polymer network for microextraction in packed syringe of carbamazepine

    , Article Journal of Chromatography A ; Volume 1491 , 2017 , Pages 1-8 ; 00219673 (ISSN) Asgari, S ; Bagheri, H ; Es haghi, A ; Amini Tabrizi, R ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
An imprinted interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) was synthesized and used as a medium for isolation of carbamazepine from urine samples. The polymer network consisted of a homogeneous polystyrene–sol gel hybrid constructed by in–situ radical polymerization method. In this process, within the sol–gel reaction duration, styrene monomer could penetrate into the reaction mixture and after the polymerization initiation, a monolithic IPN structure was prepared. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDX) are indications of the polystyrene dispersion at nano- to micro-meter level in the sol gel matrix. Eventually, the synthesized IPN was used as a...
