    Abstract
The results of the minimum miscibility pressure (MMP) determination for miscible injection of CO2 and an associated gas of one of Iranian gas reservoirs into two different oil samples using a slim tube device are presented. For an effective determination of the MMP cell-to-cell slim tube simulation was performed for each case before performing the slim tube experiment and the results were used to determine the pressure intervals in the slim tube experiment. A comparison between the measured MMP values from the slim tube experiments and those calculated by cell-to-cell simulation revealed that the cell-to-cell simulation can be a substitute to slim tube test in cases where time is a primary...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Esmaeili Rad, Farnaz (Author) ; Tghikhani, Vahid (Supervisor) ; Ghotbi, Cyrus (Supervisor) ; Badakhshan, Amir (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The main EOR method after heat recovery is gas injection. Minimum miscibility pressure is one of the parameters that affect gas injection. This project includes computational and laboratory sections to estimate the MMP. The MMP were estimated during the injection of CO2, Ga, Gb and methane gases into two oil samples. In the computational part of the project, MMP is estimated through cell to cell simulation and using Peng_Robinson equation of state. Also, the MMP is measured by using slim tube apparatus which is used so widely in the industry. According to the results, CO2 has the lowest miscibility pressure among other gases. It was miscible into oil even at pressures near the bubble...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Hemmati-Sarapardeh, Abdolhossein (Author) ; Ayatollahi, Shahab (Supervisor) ; Masihi, Mohsen (Supervisor) ; Ghazanfari, Mohammad Hossein (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Interfacial Tension (IFT) as a main parameter for gas flooding efficiency in oil reservoirs depends highly on pressure, temperature, and composition of the reservoir fluids. Therefore, it is important to measure this parameter at real reservoir condition for successful field development plan. In this study, an axisymmetric drop shape analysis (ADSA) has been utilized to measure the equilibrium IFTs in crude oil-CO2 as well as crude oil-N2 systems at different temperatures and pressures. Moreover, minimum miscibility pressures (MMP) and first-contact miscibility pressures (Pmax) of crude oil/CO2 and crude oil/N2 systems at different temperature levels are determined by applying vanishing...

Evaluation of Different Water and Gas Injection Scenarios for Improving Recovery of One of the Iranian South West Reservoirs

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Fallah Tafty, Mona (Author) ; Masihi, Mohsen (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Increasing the global demand for energy and decreasing the production rate of oil reservoirs have forced the oil companies to focus on enhanced oil recovery (EOR) extensively. This paper summarizes the design, reservoir simulation, and results of different gas injection scenarios in one of the Iranian complex oil reservoirs. This complex reservoir is located in the south west of Iran and is made up of sandstone, limestone, and dolomite layers. It is an under saturated reservoir with no gas cap but with a strong aquifer. Oil production has started in 1977, but due to strong aquifer the production is still in the plateau period. In this study, by simulation, it is estimated that natural...

    Iranian Offshore Crude Oils

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Hasani, Ehsan (Author) ; Ghotbi, Sirous (Supervisor) ; Taghikhani, Vahid (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
In this study, two approaches were applied for estimating Minimum Miscibility Pressure (MMP). An oil sample from Yadavaran Field has examined by means of Carbon Dioxide Gas, South Pars Gas, and Association Gas in experimental approach. The experimental method used for estimating MMP is Slim-Tube. This kind of method is applied in industry widely. The results indicate that the MMP of Carbon Dioxide is low which denotes that the gas is even miscible around the Bubble Point Temperature of the oil sample. Moreover, the MMP of Association Gas and South Pars Gas is 3962 and 5150 psia, respectively. In simulation approach, Cell to Cell simulation method is used to estimate the MMP of the oil sample...

    Abstract
In this study a novel, comprehensive and applicable hybrid radial basis function (RBF) neural network model optimized by particle swarm optimization (PSO) has been developed to predict MMP of pure and impure Co2 in miscible injection processes. 178 data sets from open literature used to validate and verify the proposed model. Also, slim tube test using Omani crude oil sample was carried out to confirm the model performance and its generalization Reservoir temperature, volatile to intermediate ratio and molecular weight of C5+ in the reservoir oil, composition of the Co2 and contaminants in the injected gas, considered as the input parameters. Performance of the proposed model was compared...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Meghrazi, Emad (Author) ; Fatemi, Mobeen (Supervisor) ; Ghazanfari, Mohammad Hossein (Co-Supervisor)
    Abstract
Gas injection process is one of the main methods to increase the hydrocarbon reservoirs. Minimum Miscibility pressure is a key parameter that controls the efficiency of the gas injection process. It depends on the temperature, the composition of the injected gas and the composition of the reservoir fluids. In this study, the interfacial tension of the live oil-gas system of one of the reservoirs of southwestern Iran was obtained by analyzing the Pendant drop method at 225 ° F and different pressures, and then by using the Vanishing Interfacial Tension method, the Minimum Miscibility Pressure has been computed .In this study, pure and base gases such as nitrogen, methane and injection gas of...

ZnO nanoparticle/nanorod-based label-free electrochemical immunoassay for rapid detection of MMP-9 biomarker

    Elsevier B.V  2020
    Abstract
A label-free electrochemical biosensor was developed for the rapid detection of the matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9) biomarker on the basis of antibody immobilizing on the zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticle and ZnO nanorod electrodes. The charge transfer resistance (Rct) of the electrodes was used as the indicator for MMP-9 concentration, which was obtained through cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The ZnO nanorod-based biosensor exhibited linear behavior in the MMP-9 concentration range of 1–1000 ng/ml, which is a wider range than the available concentration ranges for most of the conventional methods. The biosensor sensitivity was 32.5 μA/(decade × cm2)...

    Abstract
Although collaborative distributed simulations and virtual environments (VE) have been an active area of research in the past few years, they have recently gained even more attention due to the emergence of online gaming, emergency simulation and planning systems, and disaster management applications. Such environments combine graphics, haptics, animations and networking to create interactive multimodal worlds that allows participants to collaborate in real-time. Massively Multiplayer Online Gaming (MMOG), perhaps the most widely deployed practical application of distributed virtual environments, allows players to act together concurrently in a virtual world over the Internet.
