    Abstract
This study reports synthesis and characterization of polymeric [MoO2(Salen)] complexes that combine MoO2(acac)2 and polymeric ligands bearing N2O2 coordination sites, abbreviated herein as [piperazinCH2{MoO2(Salen)}]n (6), [piperazinCH2{MoO2(Salophen)}]n (7), and [piperazinCH2{MoO2(Salpn)}]n (8). The epoxidation of alkenes using tert-butyl hydroperoxide and oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides by urea hydrogen peroxide were enhanced with excellent selectivity under the catalytic influence of these coordination polymers. No relevant difference in activity was found due to change in the diamine in the Schiffs base ligands. The stability of polymeric catalysts was assessed by recycling a sample...

    Abstract
Single-layer MoS2-MoO3-x heterojunction nanosheets with visible-light-sensitive band gap energy and average lateral dimensions of ~70 nm were synthesized by using a two-step combined exfoliation method. The exfoliation was initiated from pristine MoS2, while some sulfur sites in expanded MoS2 sheets during exfoliating were substituted by ambient non-thermal oxygen, resulting in formation of α-MoO3-x crystalline domains. The morphological features, crystalline structure, phase formation, number of layers, and optical properties of the MoS2-MoO3-x nanosheets were determined by atomic force microscopy; X-ray diffraction; field emission electron microscopy; transmission electron microscopy; and...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Nematollahi, Mohammad Reza (Author) ; Mahdavi, Mohammad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Physical and chemical properties of tungsten oxide thin films change reversibly while exposure to hydrogen gas. This property is called gasochromic. To enhance optical properties of such films, nanostructured, amorphous and porous thin films of (WO3)1-x(MeO)x (MeO= TiO2, MoO3, NiO; x=0.09, 0.17, 0.23, 0.29, 0.33) were fabricated by Pulsed Laser Deposition. Molar percentage of Me/W (Me= Ti, Mo and Ni) was changed in films with respect to targets; for Ti and Ni always a reduction, but for Mo an enhancement for low percentages was observed. The reason is the existence of thermal ablation mechanism during deposition, in the other word is different vapor pressure effect. An increment in x for...

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Alehdaghi, Hassan (Author) ; Taghavinia, Nima (Supervisor) ; Irajizad, Azam (Supervisor) ; Marandi, Maziar (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) are one of the main subjects of research in the organic electronic advanced technology. There are many advantages for OLEDs like self-emitting, high efficiency, wide vision angle, high contrast, and rapid response time. The main challenge in this area is the long-time stability of performance in air ambiance. Although the encapsulation process could overcome the instability problem, it increases the final cost. In this project, metal oxides have been utilized for the injection of electrons and holes in hybrid light emitting diodes (HyLEDs). In the first stage, inverted structure of HyLEDs with ZnO and MgxZn1-xO layers was fabricated and characterized....

    Abstract
Unidirectional current flow is at the heart of modern electronics, which has been conceived by making p–n junctions or Schottky barriers between different kinds of materials. Within such elements, however, synthesis of thin film lateral heterostructures has so far remained challenging. Here, a one-step simple synthesis of p-type, n-type, and metallic lateral heterostructures using bipolar electrodeposition (BPE) technique is reported. Molybdenum oxides and sulfides with gradient of oxygen and sulfur are deposited at a metallic substrate. A lateral heterostructure is achieved with electrical properties that change from p- to n-type semiconductor and then to metal by moving in the plane of the...
