Abstract
In this article, the problem of simultaneous heat, mass, and momentum transfer in the developing region of tubular reactors with homogeneous chemical reaction and laminar power-law fluid flow under unsteady-state conditions has been solved. In this regard, the general governing equations were solved using finite-difference method and analyzed carefully. Moreover, the influences of various parameters and dimensionless numbers such as power-law index, heat of reaction, reaction order, and Damköhler number value on the numerical results were investigated. In addition, the numerical results obtained for the fully-developed velocity distribution of Newtonian fluid flow and Sherwood number value...
On the effects of aero boundary layer control on pressure drag reduction in supercavitating bodies

Abstract
Supercavitation is known as the way of viscous drag reduction for the projectiles, moving in the liquid phase. In recent works, there is distinct investigation between cavitation flow and momentum transfer far away from the cavity surface. However, it seems that there is strong connection between overall flow and what takes place in the sheet cavity where a constant pressure distribution is assumed. Furthermore as we'll see, pressure distribution on cavity surface caused due to overall conditions, induct nonaxisymetric forces and they may need to be investigated. Primarily we describe how pressure distribution into the cavity can cause separation of the aero boundary layer. Then we present...

Abstract
The effects of gravity and inertia dominate our experiences of the physical world. But as systems are reduced in size, phenomena such as diffusion, surface tension and viscosity become ever more important; at the microscale they can dominate and result in a world that operates very differently from the macroscopic world. Kidney is one of the vital organs in which fluid and mass transfer occur between blood flow in microvessels and urine in microchannels called nephron. The present work is aimed at applying microchannel theory to study renal system. First, a n efficient numerical orthogonal collocation method has been employed to solve the steady-state formulation of electrolyte transport in...
Drug Delivery into the Anterior Segment of the Eye
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Abdekhodaie, Mohammad Jafar (Supervisor) ; Bastani, Daruosh (Supervisor)
Abstract
Transport phenomena i.e. momentum, heat and mass transfer are occurring inside the eye constantly. Any disturbance in each of these could lead to diseases or ocular problems. Konwledge of transport phenomena can help surgeons and specialists to identify problems more easily and cure the problems effectively. Further more, these phenomena have a great impact on drug delivery inside the eye. Therefore deep understanding of them makes investigation of different therapies easy and convenient. Consequently this understanding could lead to choose the best method and route of administration available. A precise model which is in consistence with the real human eye has been developed and the ocular...
