An effective approach for determining IDS agent nodes in manet

    , Article Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Internet Technologies and Applications, ITA 09, 8 September 2009 through 11 September 2009, Wrexham, Wales ; 2009 , Pages 458-465 ; 9780946881659 (ISBN) Kuchaki Rafsanjani, M ; Khavasi, A. A ; Movaghar, A ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANET) due to different characteristics from wired networks are more vulnerable to security attacks. Construction of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) for MANETs is complicated by the fact that they are lack of fixed infrastructure and lack of central management for authentication and distribution of cryptographic keys. On the other hand, the network lifetime is an important issue in MANETs because of the energy power of mobile nodes is limited. In this paper is presented a proposed Method that in the first step, authorized nodes are detected by non-interactive zero knowledge technique and in the second step, nodes with the highest battery power from among authorized...

Design and fabrication of a floating social robot: CeB the social blimp

    , Article 13th International Conference on Social Robotics, ICSR 2021, 10 November 2021 through 13 November 2021 ; Volume 13086 LNAI , 2021 , Pages 660-670 ; 03029743 (ISSN) ; 9783030905248 (ISBN) Etesami, E ; Nemati, A ; Meghdari, A. F ; Ge, S. S ; Taheri, A ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Robotic blimps have a wide range of applications, such as monitoring activities in their surroundings, advertising, and performing on stages. They also have remarkable capacities to be used as a social robot. In this research, a manually operated social robotic blimp has been developed intending to interact with children as a social agent and attract adults’ attention as an entertainer in indoor public environments. Since the appearance of a social robot has a significant impact on its acceptance, first, we acquired opinions of several participants on the shape of a desired floating robot. The results revealed that a simple spherical structure adequately draws people’s attention. After...

Re-construction of the shut-down PM10 monitoring stations for the reliable assessment of PM10 in Berlin using fuzzy modelling and data transformation

    , Article Environmental Monitoring and Assessment ; Volume 189, Issue 3 , 2017 ; 01676369 (ISSN) Taheri Shahraiyni, H ; Sodoudi, S ; Kerschbaumer, A ; Cubasch, U ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
A dense monitoring network is vital for the reliable assessment of PM10 in different parts of an urban area. In this study, a new idea is employed for the re-construction of the 20 shut-down PM10 monitoring stations of Berlin. It endeavours to find the non-linear relationship between the hourly PM10 concentration of both the still operating and the shut-down PM10 monitoring stations by using a fuzzy modelling technique, called modified active learning method (MALM). In addition, the simulations were performed by using not only raw PM10 databases but also log-transformed PM10 databases for skewness reduction. According to the results of hourly PM10 simulation (root mean square error about...
