    Abstract
    The main focus of this paper is on the estimation of target motion parameters using bearing measurements. Here, based on a linearization of measurements, a recursive least squares (RLS) solution is developed. The performance of the proposed method is compared to PLE which uses the same approach in measurement linearization. Simulation results show the excellence of the proposed method over the PLE, and RLS results are in vicinity of the CRLB

    Abstract
    In many sensor fusion algorithms, the vision based RANdom Sample Consensus (RANSAC) method is used for estimating motion parameters for autonomous robots. Usually such algorithms estimate both translation and rotation parameters together which makes them inefficient solutions for merely rotation estimation purposes. This paper presents a novel 3-point RANSAC algorithm for estimating only the rotation parameters between two camera frames which can be utilized as a high rate source of information for a camera-IMU sensor fusion system.     Abstract
    The main purpose of this article is to estimate the seismological source parameters of the December 26, 2003, Bam earthquake Mw6.5 (Iran). The selected station is far away from the causative fault so that the synthesized ground motion would not be influenced by near source problems such as directivity effects. The well known Empirical Green's Functions (EGF) is used to synthesize the three components of main shock. The Kostrov slip model describing the entire rupture process was incorporated in the model.     Abstract
    Recently, a novel structural system, which is defined as a damped outrigger system, has been proposed to control the dynamic vibration of tall buildings. This paper examines the seismic performance of tall buildings involving multiple outriggers equipped with viscous dampers. In this respect, a dual structural system (braced moment frame) is selected as a bare structure. In addition, the number and position of outriggers are assumed to be variable along the structure height. Nonlinear Response History Analysis (RHA) is performed to evaluate the efficiency of the damped-outrigger system under eight-scaled ground motions.     Abstract
    Image based registration of rigid objects has been frequently addressed in the literature to obtain an object's motion parameters. In this paper, a new approach of joint segmentation-rigid registration, within the variational framework of the phase field approximation of the Mumford-Shah's functional, is proposed. The defined functional consists of two Mumford-Shah equations, extracting the discontinuity set of the reference and target images due to a rigid spatial transformation. Multiscale minimization of the proposed functional after finite element discretization provided a sub-pixel, robust algorithm for edge extraction as well as edge based rigid registration.
