    Abstract
We consider a group of m trusted and authenticated nodes that aim to create a shared secret key K over a wireless channel in the presence of an eavesdropper Eve. We assume that there exists a state-dependent wireless broadcast channel from one of the honest nodes to the rest of them including Eve. All of the trusted nodes can also discuss over a cost-free, noiseless and unlimited rate public channel which is also overheard by Eve. For this setup, we develop an information-theoretically secure secret key agreement protocol. We show the optimality of this protocol for 'linear deterministic' wireless broadcast channels. This model generalizes the packet erasure model studied in the literature...

Multimedia multicast based on multiterminal source coding

    , Article IEICE Transactions on Fundamentals of Electronics, Communications and Computer Sciences ; Volume E93-A, Issue 9 , 2010 , Pages 1639-1649 ; 09168508 (ISSN) Aghagolzadeh, A ; Nooshyar, M ; Rabiee, H. R ; Mikaili, E ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Multimedia multicast with two servers based on the mul- titerminal source coding is studied in some previous researches. Due to the possibility of providing an approach for practical code design for more than two correlated sources in IMTSC/CEO setup, in this paper, the framework of Slepian-Wolf coded quantization is extended and a practical code design is presented for IMTSC/CEO with the number of encoders greater than two. Then the multicast system based on the IMTSC/CEO is applied to the cases with three, four and five servers. Since the underlying code design approach for the IMTSC/CEO problem has the capability of applying to an arbitrary number of active encoders, the proposed MMBMSC...

Reliability evaluation of an HVDC transmission system tapped by a VSC station

    Abstract
Reliability evaluation of multiterminal HVDC systems has received very little attention in the past. This paper presents reliability modeling and analysis of an HVDC transmission system incorporating a voltage-sourced converter (VSC) tapping station. The use of VSC tapping stations enables the supply of power along the route to areas with comparatively little consumption. In this paper, a comprehensive detailed reliability model is developed and then converted to a manageable and computationally efficient model. Using this equivalent reliability model, various reliability indices are calculated at the load point of the system and the impacts of the VSC tapping station on these indices are...
