    Abstract
In this paper, we consider a low-complexity iterative receiver for decoding multi-user information data for the bandwidth efficient convolutionally coded UWB-TH-CDMA system, in a multipath channel. The proposed receiver structure consists of a bank of soft interference cancellers (SIC), followed by a block of MMSE filters. The outputs of these filters, are feeded to a bank of likelihood calculators (LC), each followed by a soft-input soft-output (SISO) convolutional decoder. Information is fed back from SISO decoders to SICs for interference cancellation. This receiver requires the knowledge of the attenuation and delay of the strongest path of each active user. We evaluate the performance...

    Abstract
The smart antenna technique as a method of improving the physical layer performance of OFDM WLANs is studied. For this purpose, a comparison of the smart antenna architectures for IEEE802.11a WLAN system using pre-FFT and post-FFT array processing with different parameters is represented. Simulations are performed on a new Simulink model for IEEE802.11a system using a spatio-temporal channel modeling which is based on the measured wideband channels in the 5GHz band. Raw bit-error-rate performance for QPSK/16QAM modulations at LOS and NLOS channel scenarios are evaluated and compared. © 2005 IEEE

    Abstract
In this paper, we present basic equation of efficient recursive least square algorithm based on GMSK modulation by linear superposition of amplitude modulated pulses for reduction complexity in equalizer. In this here, the DFE method be improved using of signal processing technique and soft decision which is called "generalized DFE or GDFEmethodquot;. We compare the performance and complexity GDFE with MLSE method for different channels used in GSM systems. The GDFE differs from the conventional DFE in its tap values and value of tap feedback filter related with channel length, which discussed in simulation result. Our simulation results, obtained for fading multi path channels, show that...

A practical approach for coherent signal surveillance and blind parameter assessment in asynchoronous DS-CDMA systems in multipath channel

    , Article Proceedings - 2010 18th Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering, ICEE 2010, 11 May 2010 through 13 May 2010 ; 2010 , Pages 305-310 ; 9781424467600 (ISBN) Samsami Khodadad, F ; Ganji, F ; Aref, M. R ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
A novel, robust and practical method for active user enumeration in asynchronous CDMA in multipath channel condition is proposed in this paper. Most of the previous works do not consider the fact that in practical case, user's signals with the help of receiver arrive asynchronously. The proposed method can be used practically in blind multi-user detection such as eavesdropping; moreover, the method is based on information theory criteria which outperform other methods. Minimum description length (MDL) has better performance than all other information criteria used in such scenarios. Unlike most of the pervious works, we do not exploit array antenna to gather necessary data of the users....

Two quasi orthogonal space-time block codes with better performance and low complexity decoder

    Abstract
This paper presents two new space time block codes (STBCs) with quasi orthogonal structure for an open loop multi-input single-output (MISO) systems. These two codes have been designed to transmit from three or four antennas at the transmitter and be given to one antenna at the receiver. In this paper first, the proposed codes are introduced and their structures are investigated. This is followed by the demonstration of how the decoder decodes half of transmitted symbols independent of the other half. The last part of this paper discusses the simulation results, makes performance comparison against other popular approaches and concludes that the proposed solutions offer superiority
