    Abstract
    We have shown how to construct multiresolution structures for reversing subdivision rules using global least squares models (Samavati and Bartels, Computer Graphics Forum, 18(2):97-119, June 1999). As a result, semiorthogonal wavelet systems have also been generated. To construct a multiresolution surface of an arbitrary topology, however, biorthogonal wavelets are needed. In Bartels and Samavati (Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 119:29-67, 2000) we introduced local least squares models for reversing subdivision rules to construct multiresolution curves and tensor product surfaces, noticing that the resulting wavelets were biorthogonal (under an induced inner product).     It is possible to define multiresolution by reversing the process of subdivision. One approach to reverse a subdivision scheme appropriates pure numerical algebraic relations for subdivision using the interaction of diagrams (Bartels and Samavati, 2011; Samavati and Bartels, 2006).     This research presents a robust method for P300 component recognition and classification in EEG signals for a P300 Speller Brain-Computer Interface (BCI). The multiresolution wavelet decomposition technique was used for feature extraction. The feature selection was done using an improved t-test method.     In this paper a new method for face virtual pose generation is presented. The proposed method uses subspace image representation. The general problem of blurring is addressed by introducing a multi resolution time-frequency analysis to subspace image representation. The training gallery contains face images in two different poses. Undecimated Wavelet Transform is applied on all training face images in first pose and the corresponding images in the second pose to produce image subbands.     Multi-scale transforms have got a lot of applications in image processing, in recent years. Wavelet transform is a powerful multiscale transform for denoising noisy signals and images, but the usual two-dimensional separable wavelets are sub-optimal. These separable wavelet transforms can successfully identify zero dimensional singularities in images, but can weakly identify one dimensional singularities such as edges, curves and lines.
