    Abstract
A new sensitive electrochemical sensor was fabricated based on a layer by layer process. In this process the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) is first coated by a thin film of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). In the next step, the electropolymerization of pyrrole in the presence of Nitrazine Yellow (NY) as a dopant anion is performed on the surface of the MWCNTs precoated electrode. The electrochemical response characteristics of the modified electrode toward naltrexone (NTX) were studied by means of linear sweep voltammetry (LSV). A remarkable increase (~19 times) was observed in the anodic peak current of NTX on the surface of the modified electrode relative to the bare GCE. The effects...

Preparation of a naltrexone HCL potentiometric sensor and its application to pharmaceutical analysis and drug determination in biological fluids

    , Article Journal of Food and Drug Analysis ; Volume 19, Issue 4 , 2011 , Pages 445-451+539 ; 10219498 (ISSN) Ghorbani Bidkorbeh, F ; Shahrokhian, S ; Mohammadi, A ; Dinarvand, R ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
A novel ion selective electrode is fabricated for naltrexone HCl and used in pharmaceutical analysis and drug determination in biological fluids without complicated pretreatments and extractions, using direct potentiometry. The naltrexone complex with sodium tetraphenyl borate (NaTPB) is obtained by in situ soaking PVC membrane electrode in an 1 × 10 -3 M naltrexone solution. The sensor exhibited fast, reproducible and linear sub-Nernstian response over concentration range of 1 × 10 -5 - 1 × 10 -3 M with a detection limit of 5 × 10 -6 M. The membrane sensor was successfully applied to the determination of naltrexone in capsules as well as for its determination in urine and plasma samples

Morphology-Dependent Electrocatalytic Activity of Silver Nanostructures and Differentia Pulse Voltammetry Determination of Atorvastatin at Silver Nanowires Modified Electrode

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Naseri, Amene (Author) ; Shahrokhian, Saeed (Supervisor) ; Hormozi Nezhad, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this work two shapes of silver nanostructures including silver nanowires and silver nanocubeswere synthesized by polyol method. Silver nanostructures were characterized by SEM, XRD and UV-Vis spectroscopy. Afterwards the morphology-dependent electrocatalyticperformance of these nanocrystals on the differential pulse behavior of naltrexone (NAL) was investigated. To this aim the differential pulse voltammetric behavior of NAL on a glassy carbon electrode modified with electrochemical deposited gold nanoparticles conjugated with different shapes of silver nanostructures and nafion was investigated. It was proved that silver nanowires show more effective electrocatalytic activity toward...

Investigation of structure, vibrational and NMR spectra of oxycodone and naltrexone: A combined experimental and theoretical study

    , Article Spectrochimica Acta - Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy ; Volume 79, Issue 3 , 2011 , Pages 574-582 ; 13861425 (ISSN) Tavakol, H ; Esfandyari, M ; Taheri, S ; Heydari, A ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
In this work, two important opioid antagonists, naltrexone and oxycodone, were prepared from thebaine and were characterized by IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopy. Moreover, computational NMR and IR parameters were obtained using density functional theory (DFT) at B3LYP/6-311++G* * level of theory. Complete NMR and vibrational assignment were carried out using the observed and calculated spectra. The IR frequencies and NMR chemical shifts, determined experimentally, were compared with those obtained theoretically from DFT calculations, showed good agreements. The RMS errors observed between experimental and calculated data for the IR absorptions are 85 and 105 cm-1, for the 1H NMR peaks are...

Electrochemical determination of naltrexone on the surface of glassy carbon electrode modified with Nafion-doped carbon nanoparticles: Application to determinations in pharmaceutical and clinical preparations

    , Article Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry ; Volume 638, Issue 2 , 2010 , Pages 212-217 ; 15726657 (ISSN) Ghorbani Bidkorbeh, F ; Shahrokhian, S ; Mohammadi, A ; Dinarvand, R ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
A new sensitive and selective electrochemical sensor was developed for determination of naltrexone (NAL) in pharmaceutical dosage form and human plasma. Naltrexone is an opioid antagonist which is commonly used for the treatment of narcotic addiction and alcohol dependence. A voltammetric study of naltrexone has been carried out at the surface of glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with Nafion-doped carbon nanoparticles (CNPs). The electrochemical oxidation of naltrexone was investigated by cyclic and differential pulse voltammetric techniques. The dependence of peak currents and potentials on pH, concentration and the potential scan rate was investigated. The electrode characterization...
