, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Asadollahi, Mahdieh (Author) ; Bastani, Dariuosh (Supervisor) ; Kazemian, Hossein (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this research, in order to investigate the effect of zeolites nanoparticles on the separation performance of a liquid membrane, a TEG/Nano Na-Y was developed. To do this, a high yield nano zeolite Na-Y was synthesized using mid-synthesis addition method . The synthesized samples were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, and SEM (EDX) instrumental techniques. A supported liquid membrane was prepared by impregnating a porous hydrophilic PVDF support with TEG and nano zeolite Na-Y. Permeances of single gas components of CO2, N2 and O2 were carried out at different pressures of 0.8, 1.8 and 3.7 bar. The single gases permeances were found to be: CO2 > N2 > O2. The results were shown that higher weight...

    Abstract
In this study nano zeolite was hydrothermally synthesized in order to remove ethyl and methyl mercaptans from propane and butane stream. Fifteen experimental runs were conducted using D-Optimal method experimental design to synthesize NaY, NaX and NaA zeolites. The products were characterized by measuring the morphology, particle and crystal size, surface area, adsorption isotherm, pore size, and pore volume of the products by XRD, FE-SEM, TEM and BET analyses. The pore size for NaA type zeolites is about 4 Angstrom whereas the molecular size for ethyl mercaptan and methyl mercaptan is between 4 and 5 Angtrom, Therefore, NaA zeolite is inappropriate for removing ethyl and methyl mercaptans...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Dargahi, Mahdi (Author) ; Soltanieh, Mohammad (Supervisor) ; Kazemian, Hossein (Supervisor)
    Abstract
A Novel synthesis method to assemble of nano crystalline SAPO-34 molecular sieves crystalline is successfully developed at a supercritical condition. The environmental and operating conditions are investigated through a Taguchi L-9 orthogonal array and optimum synthesis conditions in order to reach highest crystallinity and smallest crystalline. The products were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), thermal method of analysis (e.g. TG-DTA), and infra red spectroscopy (FT-IR) techniques. In comparison to conventional hydrothermal methods, using a supercritical hydrothermal approach leads to the higher purity, reduced particle size, and change of...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Firoozi, Mohammad (Author) ; Baghghalha, Morteza (Supervisor) ; Asadi, Mousa (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
Nano and microsize H-ZSM-5 were synthesized by hydrothermal crystallization method with same batch composition to investigate the effect of crystallite size of H-ZSM-5 in the methanol conversion to propylene (MTP) process. The average particle size of nano and microsize H-ZSM-5 were obtained in the range of 0.15- 0.2 and 1- 2 µm, respectively. Also, optimized catalyst of Petrochemical Research and Technology Company was synthesized using terapropylammonium bromide as template. Nowadays, terapropylammonium bromide (TPABr) is cheeper than terapropylammonium hydroxide (TPAOH); therefore we used it as tamplate. Activity tests were conducted at operating conditions of T= 460˚C, P=1 atm and WHSV...

Petroleum monoaromatics including benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) are among the notorious volatile organic compounds that contaminate water and soil. In this study, a surfactant- modified natural zeolite and its relevant granulated nanozeolites were evaluated as potential adsorbents for removal of petroleum monoaromatics from aqueous solutions. All experiments performed in batch mode at constant temperature of 20°C and pH of 6.8 for 48 h. The results revealed that the amount of BTEX uptake on granulated zeolites nanoparticles were remarkably higher than the parent micron size natural zeolite (in the order of four times). The isotherms data were analyzed using five models...

    Abstract
NaY zeolite nanoparticles were synthesized and shaped into the uniform spherical granules using a developed novel and simple two-step granulation technique. First, the alginate/nanozeolite or alginate/nanozeolite-bentonite spherical hybrid was successfully fabricated, and then the alginate was decomposed by calcinations resulting uniform spherical granules. To improve the mechanical stability of the prepared granules, bentonite was added as an inorganic binder at different ratios of 20wt.% to 40wt.%. Moreover, the effect of binder on the ion exchange properties of the prepared granules was studied. Increasing of binder content from 20wt.% to 40wt.% linearly enhanced the mechanical stability...
