    Abstract
The controlled growth of metal oxide nanostructures within hierarchically porous conductive carbon-based frameworks is critically important to achieving high volumetric performance and appropriate channel size for energy storage applications. Herein, we grow cobalt oxide (Co3O4) nanoflakes, using a sequential-electrodeposition process, into spherically porous sponge-like few-layer partially reduced graphene oxide (SrGO) synthesized by template-directed ordered assembly. Maximum specific/volumetric capacitances of 1112 F gCo3O4-1 (at 3.3 A gCo3O4-1), 178 F cm-3 (at 2.6 A cm-2), and 406 F gtotal-1 (at 1 A gtotal-1) and sensible rate capability (80% retention by increasing the charge/discharge...

Estimation of the kinetic parameters of processes at the negative plate of lead-acid batteries by impedance studies

    , Article Journal of Power Sources ; Volume 195, Issue 17 , September , 2010 , Pages 5789-5793 ; 03787753 (ISSN) Rezaei Niya, S. M ; Hejabi, M ; Gobal, F ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Impedance characteristics of the negative electrode of lead-acid battery were derived on the basis of fundamental interfacial processes occurring at the electrode. The solution of the governing equations was presented in terms of a simple equivalent circuit consisting of resistive and capacitive loops in which charge transfer and sulfate layer formation and also mass transfer (Warburg) elements are considered. The kinetic parameters were deduced by fitting the theoretically derived impedance to the experimental data. Impedance at various States of Charge (SoC) was also examined

Hybrid supercapacitors constructed from double-shelled cobalt-zinc sulfide/copper oxide nanoarrays and ferrous sulfide/graphene oxide nanostructures

    Abstract
Evolution of renewable energies in the era of the modernized world has been strongly tied up to the incessant development of high-performance energy storage systems benefiting from both high energy and power densities. In the present work, binder-free positive electrodes are fabricated via a facile electrochemical deposition route in which copper oxide nanorods (CuO NRs) directly grown onto the copper foam (CF) are decorated with bimetallic cobalt-zinc sulfide nanoarrays (Co-Zn-S NAs). The fabricated Co-Zn-S@CuO-CFs represent promising specific capacity of 317.03 C.g−1 at 1.76 A.g−1, along with superior cyclic stability (113% retention after 4500 cycles). Negative electrodes were further...

    Abstract
Development of renewable energies is in parallel with improving high-performance energy storage devices, which can store maximum solar or wind energy and power. Herein, asymmetric energy storage systems are constructed from phosphorus-doped nickel sulfide (P-doped NiS) and biomass-derived humic acid (HA) as positive and negative electrodes, respectively. Initially, nickel sulfide (NiS) nanostructures are directly grown onto nickel foam (NF) via a hydrothermal step. P-doping into the NiS bulk is carried out through a simple hydrothermal process as well. Also, HA is activated via carbonization treatment (A-HA) for employing as the negative electrode's active material. The P-doped NiS-NF...

Influence of vanadium, cobalt-codoping on electrochemical performance of titanium dioxide bronze nanobelts used as lithium ion battery anodes

    Abstract
In this work, V, Co-codoped TiO2(B) samples are synthesized through a hydrothermal method, and used as negative electrode materials for lithium ion batteries. The amount of dopants is varied in order to investigate their influence on electrochemical properties. The formation of V, Co-codoped TiO2(B) nanobelts with widths of 20 and 60 nm is demonstrated using X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma–optical emission spectrometry and field-emission scanning electron microscopy analyses. In addition, the electrochemical properties of the samples are tested by cyclic voltammetry, charging/discharging, and cyclic performance techniques. Compared to other...
