The Effect of Leanness and Agility on Operational Performance and Determination Best Parameters of Them)Case Study:the Automotive Industry in Iran)

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Modabber Azizi, Hossein (Author) ; Sepehri, Mehran (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Competitive pressures force manufacturers to continuously improve the provision of products and associated services desired by customers. One of the most comparative industries in the world is automotive industry. Since the advent, these industries have tried to use new tools for better management. So, tools such as lean production were developed in these industries. The lean production was considered by many productive industries. The TOYOTA Company which is now one of the giant car makers implements well the lean production. More or less the Iranian automotive industries have also considered this parameter. One of these Iranian industries is Iran khodro Company. As many competitors adopted...

Analysis and Performance Evaluation of Manjil Wind Farm

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Delkhosh Abatari, Hamed (Author) ; Parniani, Mostafa (Supervisor)
    Abstract
This project aims to evaluate the performance of turbine generators of various kinds that are used in Manjil wind farm, based on the measured results over a period of operation and comparing them with simulation results of the same turbine generators. It also contains a comparative study with newer types of variable speed. The results of this study can be useful to examine the actual results of operation and design characteristics of the existing turbine, and also the possible advantages of using variable speed wind turbines at Manjil wind farm. Other goal of this project is to evaluate the performance of wind farm thorough turbines’ simulation results and measured result of plant’s fiders...

Simultaneously Evaluate the Safety And Productivity of Construction Operations Using Computer Simulation

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Baniasadi, Farshid (Author) ; Alvanchi, Amin (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In order to respond to the concerns of safety and productivity of construction operations, in this research, the model based on discrete event simulation has been proposed. In this model, with simulation of different scenarios of construction operation in planning and designing phases, before starting construction operation, the level of safety and productivity of each scenario evaluates concurrently. The Scenario that best meets the safety and productivity concerns concurrently has been selected for operation. In order to evaluate the feasibility of the model in construction operation, the model has been implemented in a fabrical example. The operation of installing tiles on the sloping...

A three-stage scenario based operational performance test approaches for production capacity enhancement: Case study on the 5th refinery of South Pars Gas Complex in Iran

    , Article Journal of Natural Gas Science and Engineering ; Volume 27,Part 3 , November , 2015 , Pages 1758-1770 ; 18755100 (ISSN) Fahimirad, M ; Farzad, S ; Moghaddam, S. N ; Saremi, H. S ; Sharif University of Technology
    Elsevier  2015
    Abstract
In this work, the possibility of capacity enhancement in the South Pars Gas Complex of Iran has been studied. Mass balance is studied and data validation and reconciliation have been carried out in 5th refinery of South Pars Gas Complex in order to achieve the reliable data of the plant. Then the possibility of capacity increase has been studied, taking into account the important parameters such as alteration of the plant pressure profile. Calculation of the key parameters for different equipment at higher feed rate, specified the unit of operations which may have trouble during the capacity enhancement. The performance of export gas compressors, dehydration unit and High-Integrity Pressure...

Fibre position effects on the operation of opto-pair fibre displacement sensors

    , Article Optics and Laser Technology ; Volume 43, Issue 4 , 2011 , Pages 814-819 ; 00303992 (ISSN) Jafari, R ; Golnabi, H ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
In this article, two optical-fibre probes used in displacement measurements are reported. In one arrangement, two optical fibres with protective buffer jackets are placed together, while in the second arrangement, the protective buffer jackets are removed and the two fibres are placed with the claddings in contact, with a concomitant smaller centrecentre distance. As the core and cladding diameters are the same in both probes, the effect of the centrecentre distance on double-fibre designs can be investigated. The reflected output powers are recorded for the probes as a function of the axial distance from a reflective surface. A theoretical model is also implemented, which considers the...

A2CM2: Aging-aware cache memory management technique

    , Article CSI Symposium on Real-Time and Embedded Systems and Technologies, RTEST 2015, 7 October 2015 through 8 October 2015 ; October , 2015 , Page(s): 1 - 8 ; 9781467380478 (ISBN) Nazari, R ; Rohbani, N ; Farbeh, H ; Shirmohammadi, Z ; Miremadi, S. G ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Negative Bias Temperature Instability (NBTI) in CMOS devices is known as the major source of aging effect which is leading to performance and reliability degradation in modern processors. Instruction-cache (I-cache), which has a decisive role in performance and reliability of the processor, is one of the most prone modules to NBTI. Variations in duty cycle and long-time residency of data blocks in I-cache lines (stress condition) are the two major causes of NBTI acceleration. This paper proposes a novel I-cache management technique to minimize the aging effect in the I-cache SRAM cells. The proposed technique consists of a smart controller that monitors the cache lines behavior and...

Early post-operative performance of an anatomically designed hybrid thread interference screw for ACL reconstruction: A comparative study

    , Article Journal of Biomechanics ; Volume 135 , 2022 ; 00219290 (ISSN) Daneshvarhashjin, N ; Chizari, M ; Javad Mortazavi, S. M ; Rouhi, G ; Sharif University of Technology
    Elsevier Ltd  2022
    Abstract
Although the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction using interference screw is a well-accepted surgical procedure, patients still suffer graft failure in the initial rehabilitation phase. Graft fixation stability of a newly designed anatomical hybrid thread tapered interference screw (AHTTIS) was compared with a conventional standard one (CSIS) by conducting in-vitro mechanical tests. According to the CSIS manufacturer's instruction, eight tapered bone tunnels, matching AHTTIS geometry, and eight straight cylindrical tunnels were drilled in artificial bone blocks. Bovine tendon grafts were fixed using AHTTIS and CSIS in their corresponding bone tunnels. Each graft was subjected to...
