    Abstract
In this paper, the disadvantages of using the Hough transform as a detector have been considered in a search radar. To illustrate the effect of these disadvantages on the performance of the detector, its performance has been compared with the optimum detectors. To do this, the Generalized Likelihood Ratio detector has been extracted for detecting a target line with unknown normal parameter pair in the search environment. Then, the performance of this detector has been compared with the Hough detector by extracting their Receiver Operation Characteristics. The results of this comparison, which has been done through simulations, show that the Generalized Likelihood Ratio detector has a better...

    Abstract
Analysis of microparticle size and fluorescence intensity can be used to classify microparticles. We designed and fabricated an optofluidic system that characterizes microparticles, including fluorescent microparticles and microalgae. A new type of multi-pixel photon counter (MPPC) was employed to miniaturize the device, lower its power consumption, and make it insensitive to magnetic fields. The system uses a 635 nm laser for excitation of the microparticles' fluorescence. The scattered light from the fluorescent microparticles, as well as Chlorella vulgaris and Chlorella protothecoides, were measured. Additionally, we analyzed the width and height of the measured signals generated as a...

    Abstract
In this article we present an all passive optical iterative interference cancellation method for optical CDMA. We propose the receiver structure based on advanced binary optical logic gates (ABOLGs). Since the performance bottleneck in optical communication systems is the conversion from optical to electronic domains for optical detectors, the interference cancellation has been performed in the optical domain. In incoherent optical communication systems, we have only the positive values for the optical signals. In the proposed system, we bypass the negative values using logic arrays. In the simulations we consider multiple access interference and neglect other sources of noise. Simulation...
