The Optimal Model Development of Technology Selection in Upstream Oil and Gas Industry

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Vesali Naseh, Amir (Author) ; Roshandel, Ramin (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Upstream Oil and Gas due to the high energy consumption offer multiple degree of freedom that can be exploited to reduce capital and/or operating costs. Be use combination of optimization methods (Retrofit and Operational Problems) due to the complex nature of the optimization in UOG. To achieve the optimization Details need to identify relationships between variables. System modeling based on demand in two categories, can be divided: the demand for water and oil based and model based on electricity demand. Existing and new technologies in both evaluated and identificated the application of the system in upstream sections. The linear programming model used to determine the export of...

Optimization of Service Composition Problem in Multi-cloud Manufacturing Environment

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Koosheshi, Erfan (Author) ; Houshmand, Mahmoud (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Technological progress, complexity in costumers’ needs and distributed resources make extreme competition in business environment. It produces some novel concepts. In this research, we concentrate on cloud manufacturing which was generated by using cloud computing concepts and focuses on resources sharing between various manufacturers. One of key problems in this field is service composition. In this work, I have proposed a mathematical model with binary variables for service composition problem in multi-cloud manufacturing environment. In this model, I’ve considered for qualities of services (cost, time, energy, reliability) as objective functions. Cost and time functions include the cost...

Numerical Modeling and Simulation of Freeze Desalination of Seawater

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Salakhi, Mehdi (Author) ; Afshin, Hossein (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Access to potable water with standard quality is an inevitable component of human’s lives. Freeze desalination, by consuming lower energy compared to other techniques, relies on the exertion of a cold source which is then accompanied by simultaneous rejection of impurities from water. Regarding this, a numerical study on freeze desalination a hollow cylinder is carried out to determine the effects of the design variables such as heat flux, hydraulic diameter, initial salt concentration, and freezing time on the ice mass, ice salinity, ice generation speed, and Nusselt number on a cold surface of the inner tube. Results show that increasing the value of heat flux from -250 W/m^2 to -1000...
