    Total fuel reduction via formation flights: a new approach to air-corridor path optimization

    Abstract
    This paper presents a new approach to better utilize international air-corridors for formation flights. Using Particle Swarm Optimization, we show how different long-range flights can be brought together to form a formation. The idea serves both to increase international air-corridor capacities together and to decrease fuel consumption up to 8-10%. Case studies show that there are many places which such an approach could effectively be implemented to help cope with increase in fuel price as well as the demand for aerial transport of passengers and goods

    Abstract
    The wellbore instability increases the cost of drilling operations due to problems such as pipe sticking and lost circulation, so it is important to find the optimal well path. In this research, building a one-dimensional geomechanical model is investigated, and then the wellbore stability during drilling in different layers is evaluated. The geomechanical model is constructed using available data (well log data, mud logging unit data, and drilling reports) in a study reservoir and the optimal well path is determined by the appropriate inclination and azimuth using the geomechanical properties of the field and the stress regime, taking into account the wellbore stability and shear failure...

    Abstract
    Although there are many works in which path planning of robots is studied, but path planning of the bevel-tip needles with highly flexible body is different and difficult due to unique properties of soft tissues. Real soft tissues are nonhomogeneously elastic and uncertainly deformable and hence, during needle motions the planned path changes unknowingly. In this paper, a novel adaptive path planning of bevel-tip needles inside the uncertain brain tissue is presented.     Abstract
    Routing methods and algorithms in "Wireless Sensor Networks" attract researchers' attention a lot recently. In order to find the optimal path in WSNs depending on their type and application, various algorithms are proposed. In this paper, an optimal path finding algorithm based on "Game Theory" is discussed and improved. This algorithm finds a path witch is optimizing network lifetime, load distribution, and path reliability simultaneously

    Abstract
    In this paper, a "Game Theory" approach for finding an optimal path in a "Wireless Sensor Network" is discussed. WSN is one of the most interesting research fields in the communication networks, and is the center of attention in recent years. In our model, a pricing and payment technique is presented to obtain an optimal path in a WSN by considering reliability, energy and traffic load. The proposed algorithm is able to find a path which improves network lifetime, load distribution and path reliability
