    Abstract
MWCNTs/Ag/TiO2NTs plates were synthesized via electrochemical reduction of functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) on Ag/TiO2NTs. The loading of silver nanoparticles was carried out by electroless reduction of Ag1+ onto TiO2 nanotubes previously formed by anodizing titanium. The SEM analysis revealed that MWCNTs were loaded significantly on the as-prepared Ag/TiO2NTs, where nanoparticles of Ag had grown on the walls of TiO2NTs. The photocatalytic activity of the synthesized plates was evaluated by the photodegradation of Methyl Orange (MO) dye under UV light irradiation. The results indicated that the MWCNTs/Ag/TiO2NTs demonstrated improved efficiency for MO photodegradation in...

    Abstract
Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCCs) in the form of mixed nanostructures containing TiO2 nanoparticles and nanowires with different weight ratios and phase compositions are reported. X-ray diffraction and field emission scanning electron microscopy analyses revealed that the synthesized TiO 2 nanoparticles had average crystallite size in the range 21-39 nm, whereas TiO2 nanowires showed diameter in the range 20-50 nm. The indirect optical band gap energy of TiO2 nanowires, anatase- and rutile-TiO2 nanoparticles was calculated to be 3.35, 3.28 and 3.17 eV, respectively. The power conversion efficiency of the solar cells changed with nanowire to nanoparticle weight ratio, reaching a maximum at a...

    Elsevier  2015
    Abstract
For the first time, we report novel Ag3PO4/BiPO4 (AB)-graphene-based photocatalysts. The fabricated nanocomposites were characterized by various techniques. The photocatalytic properties of the prepared catalysts were evaluated by the photodegradation of Atrazine herbicide under both visible and UV light irradiation. Atrazine concentration was determined using the spectrophotometric method according to the Konig's reaction by monitoring the absorbance at 470 nm wavelength during the photodegradation process. Both degradation rate and efficiency using graphene (GR)-based nanocomposites are found to be much better than using pure AB. Atrazine photodegradation displayed that the AB supporting...

    Abstract
The main aim of the present study was to enhance the degradation capacity of Acid Blue 92 (AB92) by visible-light-active Ag3PO4 nanocomposites based on g-C3N4 and Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNTs). The nanocomposites were fabricated through a tunable in situ deposition method. The properties of the resulting samples were investigated by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activity results revealed that the Ag3PO4/g-C3N4 heterojunction inorganic/organic composite exhibited an improvement in both efficiency and the rate of AB92 photodegradation in comparison with the others. The enhanced photocatalytic...

    Abstract
Different compositions of TiO2–BaTiO3 nanocomposites are synthesized with various weight ratios for dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) applications. TiO2 and BaTiO3 nanoparticles (NPs) are synthesized by sol-gel and solvothermal methods, respectively and are employed as the photoanode electrodes. BaTiO3 NPs have pure cubic perovskite crystal structure with an average size of 20-40 nm, while TiO2 NPs show pure anatase phase with 15-30 nm size. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) enhancement of the cells is first attained by controlling the thickness of the films for light harvesting improvement. The fabricated DSSC composed of pure BaTiO3 NPs with an optimal thickness of 25 μm shows...

Fabrication of high conductivity TiO2/Ag fibrous electrode by the electrophoretic deposition method

    , Article Journal of Physical Chemistry C ; Volume 112, Issue 47 , 2008 , Pages 18686-18689 ; 19327447 (ISSN) Hosseini, Z ; Taghavinia, N ; Sharifi, N ; Chavoshi, M ; Rahman, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
TiO2 deposited on a membrane of Ag fibers was prepared as a photoelectrochemical cell electrode. Ag fibers were made by reduction of Ag complexes on cellulose fibers, followed by burning out the template. TiO 2 photocatalyst layers were grown on the fibers by electrophoretic deposition of TiO2 nanoparticles. Ag fibers could be uniformly deposited. Photocatalytic tests by dye decomposition and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) under UV illumination demonstrate that Ag fibers act as a good substrate that provides both high surface area and good separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs and causes the enhancement of photocatalytic activity in comparison with a thin film of...

    Abstract
This study demonstrates the glucose-template assisted synthesis of hydrogen-treated Pt: TiO2/WO3 composites, and their round-the-clock photoactivity towards methanol (MeOH) degradation under light illumination and in dark. XRD indicated increasing rutile fraction in TiO2 as a function of template removal, WO3 crystallinity and H2 treatment process. The presence of oxygen vacancies in WO3 was confirmed by XPS. Lower recombination rate and higher surface area were observed in the optimized H2-Pt-G:TiO2/WO3 catalyst. The presence of oxygen vacancies and optical enhancements due to the synergistic interactions of the multi-system (TiO2, WO3 and Pt) extended the visible light absorption of the...

    , Article Electrochimica Acta ; Volume 78 , 2012 , Pages 384-391 ; 00134686 (ISSN) Bakhshayesh, A. M ; Mohammadi, M. R ; Fray, D. J ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
TiO 2 dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) in the form of double-layer films, containing an under-layer and an over-layer, with various crystal structures (i.e., anatase and rutile phases) and morphologies (i.e., nanoparticle and nanowire) were reported. It was found that the photovoltaic performance of TiO 2 DSSCs depends on the morphology, crystal structure, light scattering effect, optical band gap energy and arrangement of the under- and over-layer films. The double-layer solar cell made of anatase-TiO 2 nanoparticles as the under-layer and anatase-TiO 2 nanowires as the over-layer (i.e., AW solar cell) showed the highest power conversion efficiency and fill factor of 6.34% and 62.6%,...
