    Abstract
In this article the constitutive equation of an Euler-Bernoulli beam, excited by multiple moving masses is considered. A set of multiple piezo-ceramic actuators is used to harness the dynamic response of the beam. In this regard the beam response is suppressed by utilizing a linear control algorithm with a time varying gain matrix and displacement-velocity feedback. The efficiency of the results is investigated through the numerical analysis of an example problem

Study of the behavior of ultrasonic piezo-ceramic actuators by simulations

    , Article Electronic Materials Letters ; Vol. 10, Issue. 1 , 2014 , pp. 37-42 ; ISSN: 17388090 Abdullah, A ; Pak, A ; Abdullah, M. M ; Shahidi, A ; Malaki, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the simulation and analysis of piezoelectric transducers with the he help of equivalent electrical circuit simulations (EECS). This paper has been devoted to study of such approach for two designed and fabricated ultrasonic sandwich transducers. By using analytical analysis, the dimensions of components of the two piezoelectric transducers were determined for the assumed resonance frequencies of 30 kHz and 40 kHz. Then, by using a two dimensional finite element model, and regarding two different modeling techniques for the transducers and by application of a current source which was connected directly to the piezoelectric pieces of the...

Buckling control of morphing composite airfoil structure using multi-stable laminate by piezoelectric sensors/actuators

    , Article Proceedings of SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering, 7 March 2011 through 9 March 2011, San Diego, CA ; Volume 7978 , 2011 ; 0277786X (ISSN) ; 9780819485403 (ISBN) Zareie, S ; Zabihollah, A ; Azizi, A ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
In the present work, an unsymmetric laminated plate with surface bonded piezoelectric sensors, and actuators has been considered. Piezoelectric sensor were used to monitor the load and deformation bifurcation occurs. Monitoring the shape and load of a morphing structure is essential to ascertain that the structure is properly deployed and it is not loaded excessively, thus, preventing structural to failure. A piezoceramic actuator is used to provide activation load and to force the structure to change its stability state from one to another. A non-linear finite element model based on the layerwise displacement theory considering the electro-mechanical coupling effects of piezoelectric...
