    Abstract
A novel heterogeneous copper catalyst was synthesized in which poly(1-vinyl imidazole-co-ionic liquid) was used as a solid heterogeneous support. The catalyst was readily synthesized in a large scale amount. The catalyst has a high loading level of copper ions and can be used in low weight percentages. The resulting catalyst was highly active in the preparation of triazoles by the Huisgen 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition method. In some cases the catalytic turnover number and frequency reached 70 002 and 3889 h-1, respectively. The catalyst was recycled many times without significant loss of activity. This journal is

    Abstract
A novel basic poly(ionic liquid) (PIL) was synthesized by miniemulsion polymerization of ionic liquid monomer 1-ethyl-3-vinylimidazolium bromide [EVim][Br] which was cross-linked by ionic liquid cross-linker 1,4-butanediyl-3,3'-bis-l-vinylimidazolium dibromide (BVD). Exchange of bromide anions in PIL nanogel with hydroxide, produced a supported basic ionic liquid catalyst. The catalytic performances of PIL nanogel with a size of about 200. nm was evaluated in the synthesis of 4. H-benzo[. b]pyrans by multi-component reaction in water. The present protocol represents a simple, ecologically safe and cost-effective route to synthesize 4. H-benzo[. b]pyrans with high products yield

    Abstract
A functionalized poly(ionic liquid) coated magnetic nanoparticle (Fe 3O 4@PIL) catalyst was successfully synthesized by polymerization of functionalized vinylimidazolium in the presence of surface modified magnetic nanoparticles. The resulting heterogeneous catalyst is shown to be an efficient acidic catalyst for synthesis of 1,1-diacetyl from aldehydes under solvent free conditions and room temperature in high yields. Also, the catalyst shows good activity for the deprotection reaction of acylals. After completion of reaction, the catalyst was simply recovered by an external conventional magnet and recycled without significant loss in the catalytic activity. Because of the polymer layers...

Gold immobilized onto poly(ionic liquid) functionalized magnetic nanoparticles: A robust magnetically recoverable catalyst for the synthesis of propargylamine in water

    , Article RSC Advances ; Volume 5, Issue 43 , Apr , 2015 , Pages 34502-34510 ; 20462069 (ISSN) Moghaddam, F. M ; Ayati, S. E ; Hosseini, S. H ; Pourjavadi, A ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Supported gold(III) on poly(ionic liquid) coated on magnetic nanoparticles produced a highly active, stable, recoverable and high loading for the synthesis of propargylamines (A3 coupling reaction) under green conditions. The reaction of aldehyde, secondary amine and alkyne were followed in aqueous media. The catalyst was characterized by TEM, TGA, AAS, FT-IR, XRD and EDX. A broad diversity of aldehydes, secondary amines, and alkynes, and a good to excellent yield of corresponding propargylamines were synthesized using 1.0% Au. The catalyst was easily recovered and reused 10 times without significant loss of activity

Crosslinked poly(ionic liquid) as high loaded dual acidic organocatalyst

    , Article Journal of Molecular Catalysis A: Chemical ; Volume 365 , 2012 , Pages 55-59 ; 13811169 (ISSN) Pourjavadi, A ; Hosseini, S. H ; Soleyman, R ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
A dual acidic heterogeneous organocatalyst was synthesized by copolymerization of acidic ionic liquid monomer (vinyl-3-(3-sulfopropyl) imidazolium hydrogen sulfate [VSim][HSO 4]) and ionic liquid crosslinker (1,4-butanediyl-3,3′-bis-l-vinyl imidazolium dihydrogen sulfate). The resulting ionic heterogeneous catalyst is shown to be an efficient dual acidic organocatalyst for synthesis of dihydropyrimidines using the Biginelli synthetic route under mild reaction conditions in high yields. Since monomers make the catalyst bed, crosslinked poly(ionic liquid) will have high loading level of acidic groups comparing to other heterogeneous acid catalysts. Despite of conventional heterogeneous ionic...

Gold nanoparticles anchored onto the magnetic poly(ionic-liquid) polymer as robust and recoverable catalyst for reduction of Nitroarenes

    , Article Applied Organometallic Chemistry ; Volume 31, Issue 12 , 2017 ; 02682605 (ISSN) Matloubi Moghaddam, F ; Ayati, S. E ; Firouzi, H. R ; Hosseini, S. H ; Pourjavadi, A ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Gold nanoparticles supported on poly ionic-liquid magnetic nanoparticles (MNP@PIL@Au) were synthesized by reduction of HAuCl4 with sodium borohydride. The synthesized catalyst was characterized using by AAS, TEM, FT-IR, EDS, TGA and XRD techniques. The performance of the synthesized catalyst was investigated in the reduction of nitroarenes with NaBH4. The reaction was carried out for various nitroarenes in water and mild conditions with high yields. The catalyst selectivity for the reduction of nitro group in the presences of other functional groups such as halides and alkynes was fairly well. The recycling of the catalyst was done 8 times without any significant loss of its catalytic...

Tungstate-loaded triazine-based magnetic poly(Bis-imidazolium ionic liquid): An effective bi-functional catalyst for tandem selective oxidation/Knoevenagel condensation in water

    , Article Polymer (United Kingdom) ; Volume 112 , 2017 , Pages 342-350 ; 00323861 (ISSN) Zohreh, N ; Tavakolizadeh, M ; Hosseini, S. H ; Pourjavadi, A ; Bennett, C ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
A novel bi-functional polymeric catalyst was synthesized by immobilization of tungstate anions onto the nitrogen rich poly(ionic liquid)/magnetic nanocomposite. The resulting catalyst has two types of catalytic sites: (i) immobilized WO4 anions with bis-imidazolium ionic liquid cation for selective oxidation of alcohols and (ii) basic amine groups for Knoevenagel condensation between produced aldehyde and malononitrile. Due to the polymeric nature of the catalyst, large amounts of tungstate and basic nitrogen groups were presented on the solid surface which led to a decrease in the applied catalyst mass for catalytic reaction. High catalytic activity and excellent selectivity of catalyst in...

    Abstract
A magnetic nanocomposite was prepared by entrapment of Fe3O4 nanoparticles into the cross-linked ionic liquid/epoxy type polymer. The resulting support was used for covalent immobilization of cellulase through the reaction with epoxy groups. The ionic surface of the support improved the adsorption of enzyme, and a large amount of enzyme (106.1 mg/g) was loaded onto the support surface. The effect of the presence of ionic monomer and covalent binding of enzyme was also investigated. The structure of support was characterized by various instruments such as FT-IR, TGA, VSM, XRD, TEM, SEM, and DLS. The activity and stability of immobilized cellulase were investigated in the prepared support. The...
