Cytotoxicity of carbon nanotube/polycitric acid hybrid nanomaterials

    , Article Iranian Polymer Journal (English Edition) ; Vol. 23, issue. 3 , 2014 , pp. 195-201 ; ISSN: 10261265 Adeli, M ; Alavidjeh, M. S ; Mohammadifar, E ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Polycitric acid was conjugated onto the surface of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and hybrid nanomaterials containing CNT axis and polycitric acid branches that were highly soluble in aqueous solutions were synthesized. In this work, pristine MWCNTs were opened and functionalized through treatment with acid, then polycitric acid was covalently grafted onto their surface by the "grafting from" approach based on polycondensation of citric acid in the melting state. The chemical structure, morphology, thermal properties and size of MWCNT-g-PCA hybrid materials were investigated by IR, 13C NMR, 1H NMR, TEM, TGA, DSC and DLS. To investigate the biocompatibility of the synthesized hybrid nanomaterials...

Synthesis of γ-Fe2O3 Nanoparticles by Gelatin Mediator and Synthesis of γ-Fe2O3/SiO2/PCA/Ag-NPs Nanostructure Drug Delivery System

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Masoud, Nazila (Author) ; Pourjavadi, Ali (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Maghemite (γ-Fe2O3) nanoparticles were produced after high temperature oxidation of gelatin-Fe3O4 nanocomposite, obtained from a common coprecipitation process of Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions in an alkaline medium in the presence of a gelatin protein as an effective mediator. Size, shape, surface morphology and magnetic properties of the prepared γ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles were characterized using XRD, FTIR, TEM, SEM and VSM data. The results revealed that primary, gelatin-Fe3O4 nanocomposite had been formed and next, the gelatin decomposition in furnace produced a spinel structure of γ-Fe2O3. The effects of furnace temperature and time of heating together with the amount of gelatin on the produced...

Study of a Biosensor Based on Nanofibers

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Shamloo, Arezoo (Author) ; Vossoughi, Manouchehr (Supervisor) ; Alemzadeh, Iran (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this project an enzymatic peroxidase biosensor based on two naono structured material 1-Polyaniline nananofibers 2-Polyethylene glycol-Poly citric acid copolymer was studied for phenol detection.Polyaniline nanofibers and poly ethylene glycol-poly citric acid copolymer were synthetized by chemical polymerization.Electrochemical behaviors of these biosensors were studied using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and amperometric techniques. The amperometric response of the coated electrodes is highly stable with 92% of the initial activity remaining after 5 determinations. These phenol biosensors show an oxidation peak at 0.55V. The amperometric response for phenol biosensor based on Polyaniline...
