Abstract
Polymer flooding can yield considerable increase in percentage recovery. However, there are limitations with the existing polymer flooding technology, such as thermal, mechanical, bacterial degradation, surface absorption and undesirable plugging. A novel nanocore shell structure of polyacrylamide and polystyrene designed and prepared to intellectually control mobility ratio in oil reservoirs and overcome weakness and limitations of classical polymer flooding. Abstract
Long-term deactivation of a commercial K-promoted Fe2O3 catalyst used in the dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to styrene monomer was studied using thirty months of operating data of three industrial SM radial fixed bed adiabatic reactors. The Langmuir-Hinshelwood, Hougen-Watson model (LHHW) was used for reaction kinetics modeling. The kinetics of coking from ethylbenzene and styrene and the short-term deactivation function due to the quick coke formation were also considered in the model. Normal aggregates are replaced by polystyrene beads (EPS) due to their low unit weight. EPS concrete is known for its low density and environmentally friendly properties apart from having various pros such as better heat and sound isolation, affordability, and ease of construction. EPS grain size can also affect the compressive strength, and the tensile strength of EPS concrete compression is also inversely related to EPS grain diameter. The EPS concrete has four different percentages of EPS; 0%, 25%, 50%, and 75%. Each EPS percentage has six different unit weights; 15,20,25,30,35 and 40 kg/m3.
