    , Article 2010 IEEE 10th International Conference on Signal Processing, ICSP2010, Beijing, China, 24 October 2010 through 28 October 2010 ; October , 2010 , Pages 1873-1876 ; 9781424458981 (ISBN) Mahdavi, A ; Pezeshk, A. M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
one of the main problems of radar identification in electronic warfare support system is analysis of pulse repetition interval (PRI) modulation. In this paper a robust method of recognizing the PRI modulation type of radar signals is proposed to improve robustness of previous recognition methods as well as to reduce the complexity. Simulation results show that the proposed method achieves much better error recognition rate in case of missing and spurious pulses than other methods such as autocorrelation based techniques and the Noone method

A novel method of deinterleaving pulse repetition interval modulated sparse sequences in noisy environments

    , Article IEICE Transactions on Fundamentals of Electronics, Communications and Computer Sciences ; Vol. E97-A, issue. 5 , 2014 , pp. 1136-1139 ; ISSN: 17451337 Keshavarzi, M ; Amiri, D ; Pezeshk, A.M ; Farzaneh, F ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
This letter presents a novel method based on sparsity, to solve the problem of deinterleaving pulse trains. The proposed method models the problem of deinterleaving pulse trains as an underdetermined system of linear equations. After determining the mixing matrix, we find sparsest solution of an underdetermined system of linear equations using basis pursuit denoising. This method is superior to previous ones in a number of aspects. First, spurious and missing pulses would not cause any performance reduction in the algorithm. Second, the algorithm works well despite the type of pulse repetition interval modulation that is used. Third, the proposed method is able to separate similar...

    Abstract
Pulse Repetition Interval (PRI) Modulation Detection is an important subsystem of a typical electronic warfare support system. In this paper, a robust, fast, and well designed structure for detection of simple and complex PRI modulations based on statistical and sequential analysis of Pulse Repetition Interval (PRI) is proposed. Accuracy and robustness of the technique against electromagnetic noise are demonstrated via simulations

    Abstract
It is generally accepted that Electronic Warfare has three distinct components: (1) electronic support (ES), (2) electronic attack (EA), and (3) electronic protect (EP). ES is included those measures taken to collect information about an adversary by intercepting radiated emissions. EA refers to attempting to deny adversaries access to their information by radiating energy into their receivers. EP includes activities under taken to prevent an adversary from successfully conducting ES or EA on friendly forces.
The function of Electronic Support Measurement (ESM) System is considered as a part of the first component (i.e. ES). After receiving emitted signals from various radars by ESM...

    Abstract
After receiving emitted signals from various radars by electronic support measures (ESM) system, several processes are applied to signals such as: deinterleaving, recognition of pulse repetition interval (PRI) modulation, PRI estimation and etc. Indeed, recognition of PRI modulation is an essential task of ESM system. In this paper a novel and robust method for recognition of complicated PRI Modulations is presented. This method uses specifications such as distribution related to members of sequences obtained from first and second order derivation of TOAs around a constant value and continuity of these sequences to recognize the PRI modulation. Some numerical simulations are performed to...

    Abstract
In an electronic warfare environment, an electronic support system receives signals emitted by different radars. One of the key tasks in an electronic support system is detection of Pulse Repetition Interval Modulation for these signals. In this paper we present a new robust and yet simple method for detection of complex PRI Modulation. Simulation results show that the proposed method is more robust against noise (spurious and missing pulses) and unwanted jitter than previous methods

    Abstract
The problem of estimating pulse repetition interval (PRI) of an interleaved pulse train which consist of several independent radar signals, is the main issue of signal processing in electronic support systems. PRI Transform algorithm is one of the well known and effective methods of PRI detection which is capable of detecting several close jittered signals and surpassing subharmonics, but have some drawbacks especially because of small PRI dynamic range and heavy computations. In this paper a modified PRI transform is introduced which manage wide range of PRIs simultaneously, and speed up the algorithm by significantly reducing the computations. Moreover an efficient threshold is set for...

    Abstract
Some periodic and quasi-periodic pulse trains are emitted by different sources in the environment and a number of sensors receive them through a single channel simultaneously. We are often interested in separating these pulse trains for source identification at sensors. This identification process is termed as deinterleaving pulse trains. Deinterleaving pulse trains has wide applications in communications, radar systems, neural systems, biomedical engineering, and so on. This paper studies the deinterleaving problem with the assumption that both sources and sensors are fixed. In this study, the problem of deinterleaving pulse trains is modeled as a blind source separation (BSS) problem. To...
