    A fast community based algorithm for generating web crawler seeds set

    Abstract
    In this paper, we present a new and fast algorithm for generating the seeds set for web crawlers. A typical crawler normally starts from a fixed set like DMOZ links, and then continues crawling from URLs found in these web pages. Crawlers are supposed to download more good pages in less iterations. Crawled pages are good if they have high PageRanks and are from different communities. In this paper, we present a new algorithm with O(n) running time for generating crawler's seeds set based on HITS algorithm. A crawler can download qualified web pages, from different communities, starting from generated seeds set using our algorithm in less iteration

    Abstract
    In this paper, two different important quality metrics, clearance and execution time, for motion planning of mobile robots are studied. Then a new approach, called Clearance-Based Probabilistic Roadmap Method (CBPRM (c)), is proposed which in contrast to VV(c) method, Visibility-Voronoi with clearance c, beside satisfaction of a predefined clearance is very efficient in running time. This provides the CBPRM (c) to be applicable in dynamic environments which require realtime approaches. Experiments showed that the CBPRM(c) is able to generate paths with very low execution time considering determined clearance. © 2008 IEEE

    Abstract
    We extend the Watson image quality metric to 3D images through the concept of integral imaging. In the Watson's model, perceptual thresholds for changes to the DCT coefficients of a 2D image are given for information hiding. These thresholds are estimated in a way that the resulting distortion in the 2D image remains undetectable by the human eyes. In this paper, the same perceptual thresholds are estimated for a 3D scene in the integral imaging method. These thresholds are obtained based on the Watson's model using the relation between 2D elemental images and resulting 3D image. The proposed model is evaluated through subjective tests in a typical image steganography scheme

    Abstract
    The quality assessment is a vital routine in videorelated industries such as broadcast service providers. Due to the duration and the excessive number of the video files, case by case assessment of the files by operators is no longer feasible. Therefore, a computer-based video quality assessment mechanism is the only solution. While it is common to measure the quality of a video file at the compression stage by comparing it against the raw data, at later stages no reference video is available for comparison.
