    Abstract
UMTS is the European standard of third generation of mobile communications and its air interface is called WCDMA. In this paper a simple WCDMA system in downlink and in FDD mode is simulated and results is presented. The simulation that is an execution of apart of physical layer functions as layer 1, is including data modulation, spreading multipath channel, AWGN noise, data demodulation, despreading and Rake receiver. It is obvious that transmission methods of data correspond with WCDMA standard. In the other word, frames and slots structure, data symbols setting and requiring parameters follow the defined standards

UWB spectrally encoded spread-time CDMA in the presence of multiple gaussian interference: RAKE receiver and three-level codes [electronic resource]

    , Article IEEE Transactions on Communications ; Volume 56, Issue 12, 2008, Pages 2178-2189 Mashhadi, S ; Salehi, J. A ; Sharif University Of Technology
    Abstract
In this paper we study and analyze the performance of the RAKE receiver for a typical Ultrawideband (UWB) Spectrally-Encoded Spread-Time (ST) CDMA in the presence of multiple Gaussian Interference (GI) signals. We demonstrate that by combining useful properties of three-level codes, i.e., codes with values of - 1, 0, +1, and RAKE receiver, we can introduce a new strategy in which it can result in superior performance when compared to previous results. In particular, following a discussion on three-level codes we can show that RAKE receiver with optimum multiplicative weights achieves a better performance when compared with simple two-level codes. With the help of an example we show various...

    Abstract
In this paper, we study and analyze the performance of matched and partially-matched receivers for a typical ultra wide-band Spectrally-Encoded Spread-Time (SE/ST) CDMA in the presence of multiple tone jammers. We investigate a scenario where there is no information about the jammer frequencies in the transmitter side while it is desirable to cancel it in the receiver side. We will demonstrate the performance of the SE/ST system would be improved through partially matched filter at the receiver. In addition, we approximate the two-dimensional RAKE receiver by a simple one-dimensional RAKE for the scenario where there are K asynchronous users. Furthermore, closed form formula for the...

Differentially Detection in UWB Communicatio Systems without Reference Transmission

    Abstract
In recent years, UWB multiple access communication systems have received a great attention due to its many advantages. The most important advantages of a UWB system can be summarized as its high data rates, low power consumption, fading immunity and high precision routing. One of the important problems in a UWB system implementation is in its receiver part in which in order to use a coherent RAKE receiver, the channel coefficients have to be estimated. Since UWB channel is a dense multipath fading channel with a very high number of resolvable paths, the channel coefficient estimation based on using training sequence is very complicated. To resolve this problem, transmit reference (TR)...

Detection and Performance Analysis of Spread Time CDMA Systems in the Presence of Multitone Jammers

    Abstract
In this thesis, we study and analyze the performance of matched and partially-matched re-ceivers for a typical Ultra Wide-band Spectrally-Encoded Spread-Time (SE/ST) CDMA in the presence of multiple tone jammers and a coexisting OFDM system. We investigate a scenario in which there is not any information about the jammer and OFDM subcarrier frequencies in the transmitter side and we try to cancel jammers and interferences at the receiver. For this case, we demonstrate that by using a partially-matched filter at the receiver in an environment with multiple tone jammers and some coexisting systems the performance of the SE/ST system can be improved. We also assume K asynchronous users and...

Performance analysis of internally coded partial-band DS-CDMA system in multipath Rayleigh fading channel

    Abstract
We evaluate the performance of the internally coded partial-band DS-CDMA scheme first introduced in [1], in a multipath Rayleigh fading channel. The scheme of [1] is based on frequency-hopping (FH) and direct-sequence (DS) spread spectrum techniques. The total bandwidth is divided into Ns subbands. The output of a super-orthogonal encoder and a pseudorandom (PN) sequence selects one subband, in which the user's data is sent in the form of DS-CDMA signal using the second PN sequence. We consider soft detection at the receiver front end. We obtain the upper and lower bounds on the bit error rate. For comparison, we also consider the conventional DS-CDMA system. It is shown that for the same...

Performance of UWB linked relay network with time-reversed transmission in the presence of channel estimation error

    Abstract
In this paper, we present the bit error probability (BEP) of a relay network employing UWB links between its nodes. Since UWB systems can resolve many paths and are thus rich in multipath diversity, the use of the Rake diversity combining is very effective. However, because of the complexity, it is impractical in the scenarios with portable terminals or in the networks with multiple relays. Time-reversal technique, in which the transmitting nodes can do the pre-diversity filtering of UWB signal before transmission, is known as an approach to achieve the performance equivalent to the Rake combining without increasing the receiver complexity. The performance of such a network with simple...
