Novel structures for carbon nanotube field effect transistors

    , Article International Journal of Modern Physics B ; Volume 23, Issue 19 , 2009 , Pages 3669-3678 ; 02179792 (ISSN) Faez, R ; Hosseini, S. E ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
A carbon nanotube field effect transistor (CNTFET) has been studied based on the SchrödingerPoisson formalism. To improve the saturation range in the output characteristics, new structures for CNTFETs are proposed. These structures are simulated and compared with the conventional structure. Simulations show that these structures have a wider output saturation range. With this, larger drain-source voltage (Vds) can be used, which results in higher output power. In the digital circuits, higher Vds increases noise immunity. © 2009 World Scientific Publishing Company

A proposed mechanism for mind-brain interaction using extended Bohmian quantum mechanics in Avicenna's monotheistic perspective

    Abstract
In quantum approaches to consciousness, the authors try to propose a model and mechanism for the mind-brain interaction using modern physics and some quantum concepts which do not exist in the classical physics. The independent effect of mind on the brain has been one of the challenging issues in the history of science and philosophy. In some recent mind-brain interaction models, the direct influence of mind on matter is either not accepted (as in Stapp's model) or not clear, and there have not been any clear mechanism for it (as in Penrose-Hameroff's model or in Eccles's model). In this manuscript we propose a model and mechanism for mind's effect on the matter using an extended Bohmian...

The novel soliton solutions for the conformable perturbed nonlinear Schrödinger equation

    , Article Modern Physics Letters B ; Volume 36, Issue 8 , 2022 ; 02179849 (ISSN) Yépez-Martínez, H ; Pashrashid, A ; Gómez Aguilar, J. F ; Akinyemi, L ; Rezazadeh, H ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
The sub-equation method is implemented to construct exact solutions for the conformable perturbed nonlinear Schrödinger equation. In this paper, we consider three different types of nonlinear perturbations: The quadratic-cubic law, the quadratic-quartic-quintic law, and the cubic-quintic-septic law. The properties of the conformable derivative are discussed and applied with the help of a suitable wave transform that converts the governing model to a nonlinear ordinary differential equation. Furthermore, the order of the expected polynomial-type solution is obtained using the homogeneous balancing approach. Dark and singular soliton solutions are derived. © 2022 World Scientific Publishing...

Stability under Γ-convergence of least energy solutions for semilinear problems in the whole ℝN

    Abstract
We study the homogenization of semilinear elliptic equations in divergence form with discontinuous oscillating coefficients in the whole ℝN. As is well known, the homogenization process in a classical framework is concerned with the study of asymptotic behavior of solutions u Isin; of boundary value problems when the period ∈ > 0 of the coefficients is small. By extending some of the classical homogenization results for quasi-linear elliptic equations to unbounded domains and, making use of various variational techniques, we shall establish some stability results under Γ-convergence of least energy solutions for such boundary value problems
