Security of multi-adjustable join schemes: separations and implications

, Article IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing ; 2021 ; 15455971 (ISSN) Rafiee, M ; Khazaei, S ; Sharif University of Technology
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc  2021
    Abstract
Database management systems (DBMS) are one of cloud services with major applications in industry and business. In the use of such services, since the cloud service provider cannot be entrusted with the plain data, the databases are typically encrypted prior to outsourcing. One of the most challenging issues in designing these services is supporting SQL join queries on the encrypted database. The multi-adjustable join scheme (M-Adjoin) [Khazaei-Rafiee 2020], an extension of Adjoin [Popa-Zeldovich 2012 and Mironov-Segev-Shahaf 2017], is a symmetric-key primitive that supports the join queries for a list of column labels on an encrypted database. In previous works, the following security...

Dynamic mutual manufacturing and transportation routing service selection for cloud manufacturing with multi-period service-demand matching

    , Article PeerJ Computer Science ; Volume 7 , 2021 , Pages 1-30 ; 23765992 (ISSN) Sadeghi Aghili, S. A ; Fatahi Valilai, O ; Haji, A ; Khalilzadeh, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Recently, manufacturing firms and logistics service providers have been encouraged to deploy the most recent features of Information Technology (IT) to prevail in the competitive circumstances of manufacturing industries. Industry 4.0 and Cloud manufacturing (CMfg), accompanied by a service-oriented architecture model, have been regarded as renowned approaches to enable and facilitate the transition of conventional manufacturing business models into more efficient and productive ones. Furthermore, there is an aptness among the manufacturing and logistics businesses as service providers to synergize and cut down the investment and operational costs via sharing logistics fleet and production...

A two-criteria objective function flexible flowshop scheduling problem with machine eligibility constraint

    , Article International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology ; Volume 64, Issue 5-8 , April , 2013 , Pages 1001-1015 ; 02683768 (ISSN) Tadayon, B ; Salmasi, N ; Sharif University of Technology
    2013
    Abstract
This research deals with a flexible flowshop scheduling problem with the arrival and delivery of jobs in groups and processing them individually. Each group of jobs has a specific release time. Due to the special characteristics of each job, only a specific group of machines in each stage are eligible to process that job. All jobs in a group should be delivered at the same time after processing. The objectives of the problem are the minimization of the sum of the completion time of groups on one hand and the minimization of sum of the differences between the completion time of jobs and the delivery time of the group containing that job (waiting period) on the other hand. The problem can be...

A hybrid method of artificial neural networks and simulated annealing in monitoring auto-correlated multi-attribute processes

    , Article International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology ; Volume 56, Issue 5-8 , 2011 , Pages 777-788 ; 02683768 (ISSN) Niaki, S. T. A ; Akbari Nasaji, S ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
The quality characteristics of both manufacturing and service industries include not only the variables but the attributes as well. While a substantial research have been performed on auto-correlated variables, little attempt has been fulfilled for auto-correlated attributes. Ignoring the imbedded autocorrelation structure in constructing control charts cause not only the in-control run length to decrease, but also the false alarms to increase. To overcome these shortcomings, in this research, an autoregressive vector first models the autocorrelation structure of the process data. Then, a modified Elman neural network is developed to generate simulated data using the ARTA algorithm. Next, a...

    Abstract
Quality characteristics are subject of both manufacturing and service industries, which include not only the variables but the attributes as well. In Quality Control area substantial research has been done for Auto-correlated variables; however, no attempt was done for Auto-correlated attributes. Ignoring the autocorrelation structure in constructing control charts cause the in-control run length to decrease, and the false alarms to increase as such. In this article we develop a new methodology based upon the modified Elman neural network capabilities to overcome this problem. Moreover, instead of back propagation, simulated annealing is suggested as an alternative training technique that is...

No-Reference video quality assessment using recurrent neural networks

    , Article 5th Iranian Conference on Signal Processing and Intelligent Systems, ICSPIS 2019, 18 December 2019 through 19 December 2019 ; 2019 ; 9781728153506 (ISBN) Otroshi Shahreza, H ; Amini, A ; Behroozi, H ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
The quality assessment is a vital routine in videorelated industries such as broadcast service providers. Due to the duration and the excessive number of the video files, case by case assessment of the files by operators is no longer feasible. Therefore, a computer-based video quality assessment mechanism is the only solution. While it is common to measure the quality of a video file at the compression stage by comparing it against the raw data, at later stages no reference video is available for comparison. Therefore, a no-reference (Blind) video quality assessment (NR-VQA) technique is essential. The common NRVQA methods learn a quality metric based on a number of features extracted from...
