, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Moeini, Mohammad (Author) ; Mohtasham Dolatshahi, Kiarash (Supervisor) ; Khosravi, Ali (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this research, soil-pile-structure in dry and wet soil conition will be investigated.Specifically the goal of the research is to study the effect of soil-pile-structure interaction on the collapse capacity of the offshore structures. To that end, initially soil-pile interaction in three soil types in dry and wet condition, has been studied. To investigate soil-pile interaction methods of FEM and Winkler springs have been implemented and in the following stages Winkler method was used for seismic soil-pile-structure interaction. Also, 2D FEM was used for soil-column analysis. Finally, an offshore jacket structure was modeled and verified using experimental data to capture collapse limit...

Development of a Multi-functional Soil Column for Studying Bioremediation and Multiphase Flow

    Abstract
Soil and water pollution is one of the most common types of pollution in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. The development of mines and the oil and petrochemical industry on one hand and the non-compliance with environmental requirements on the other hand have caused large amounts of hydrocarbon pollutants and heavy metals to enter the environment in recent decades. Petroleum materials and heavy metals leak into the surrounding environment during drilling and extraction in oil sites and mines or during land and sea transportation, despite the measures taken to control their pollution. The conducted studies show that human industrial activities are the only cause of environmental pollution...
