    Abstract
According to one survey on energy consumption in Iran, commercial and building sector consume more energy than any other economic sectors. For example, about 38% of total energy that consumed in year 2001 has been used for space heating. Insulation in external walls of buildings has an important role to reduce the environmental effects on indoor space condition. Therefore, always using insulation is an alternative to avoid from the energy loss. In this paper, the effects of the using of a proper insulation on the energy saving in Iranian buildings are studied. For this purpose, an integrative modelling is used for simulation of the energy consumption in buildings. It is shown that energy...

    Abstract
Thermal performance of a novel sintered wick heat pipe was investigated in this study. Two types of sintered wick heat pipes were fabricated and tested at different filling ratios of water, and their thermal resistances in different modes were compared. In the first type, wick was sintered annularly (conventional type), and in the other one (novel type of sintered wick) it was sintered only in one third of cross-section. Results showed that dry-out occurs at higher heat input by an increase in the filling ratio. Moreover, the best filling ratio is 20% for both heat pipes. Thermal resistances of the partly sintered wick heat pipe are approximately 28%, 17% and 47% lower than those of the...

Effects of temperature variations on the performance of a space imaging system baffle

    Abstract
All the star trackers must be composed of a baffle system to removes stray lights intensity. The baffle is designed to mount in front of the optical system. The performance of a star tracker is often limited by the stray light level on the detector. According to the space conditions, the baffle may deflect due to the temperature variation during the mission. Sun heat flux imposed to the baffle from one side and heat radiates from baffle to the space in all sides. In our case, the baffle is fixed to the satellite structure by four titanium screw. A finite element model has been used to modeling the baffle and temperature distribution and deflection is obtained in worst cold and hot...
