Abstract
The observation of a new b baryon via its strong decay into Ξb-π + (plus charge conjugates) is reported. The measurement uses a data sample of pp collisions at √s=7TeV collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.3fb -1. The known Ξb- baryon is reconstructed via the decay chain Ξb-→J/ψΞ -→μ +μ -Λ0π -, with Λ0→pπ -. A peak is observed in the distribution of the difference between the mass of the Ξb-π + system and the sum of the masses of the Ξb- and π +, with a significance exceeding 5 standard deviations. The mass difference of the peak is 14.84±0.74(stat)±0.28(syst)MeV. The new state most likely corresponds to the JP=3/2 + companion of the Ξ b

In classical multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) methods, the ratings and the weights of the criteria are known precisely. Owning to vagueness of the decision data, the crisp data are inadequate for real-life situations. Abstract
Swept wings are of great interest for achieving high speed as well as increasing the critical Mach number in aircrafts and unmanned flying vehicles. The governing fluid mechanical phenomenon on swept wings is strongly influenced by the chordwise and spanwise components of the cross-flow. Laminar airfoils are employed for drag reduction and postponing the boundary layer transition from laminar to turbulence. Hence, the knowledge about the boundary layer structure and instability modes is of great significance. Variations in supply and demand of transportation, as well as those in the related environment, would cause daily variations in user travel time of transportation networks. This phenomenon particularly happen in morning travel time peaks, and make estimation of travel time highly unreliable. Morning peak passengers, whose timely presence at the destinations are highly important to them, prefer to choose paths that have minimum travel time and maximum reliability. Data collected from street networks show that travel time in urban street networks is a stochastic variable, whose range of variation increases with the congestion level. A new and convenient format of single drop microextraction (SDME) was developed and applied for isolation of some selected aryloxyphenoxypropionate herbicides from aquatic media. In contrast to the conventional SDME procedure, in this set-up the extraction microdrop was positioned at the bottom of a conical vial in order to provide much higher stability for the organic extraction phase while a magnetic bar was used for stirring the aqueous solution. Crosstalk due to the capacitive and inductive coupling has adverse effect on the circuit performance. In this paper crosstalk voltage and its induced power are studied for a stochastic environment bus with specific physical structure. Input switching pattern, driver, and load are swept in wide range for VLSI application to study crosstalk variation. Abstract
The remarkable rotational symmetry of the photosynthetic antenna complexes of purple bacteria has long been thought to enhance their light harvesting and excitation energy transport. We study the role of symmetry by modeling hypothetical antennas whose symmetry is broken by altering the orientations of the bacteriochlorophyll pigments. We find that in both LH2 and LH1 complexes, symmetry increases energy transfer rates by enabling the cooperative, coherent process of supertransfer. A magnetic polyurethane (PU) nanocomposite was synthesized by an electrospinning technique and applied for isolation and preconcentration of fluoxetine from aquatic and biological samples. The nanocomposite was electrospun using a PU polymer solution containing the dispersed magnetic nanoparticles. The magnetic properties of iron nanoparticles, along with the use of an electrospinning technique, led to the formation of a suitable sorbent toward isolation of fluoxetine. The objective of the work ahead is presentation of a new carbon paste electrode (CPE) modified by TiO2 nanoparticles (TiO2NPs) and 1,2-bis-[o-aminophenyl thio] ethane (APTE) ligand as a selective cation receptor for determination of the Cd (II) ions using differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV). The electrode shows an excellent tendency to Cd (II) ions in presence of some interfering species. Under the optimum conditions, a linear calibration curve was obtained in the concentration range of 2.9 nM to 4.6 μM with a correlation coefficient of 0.9969 in the anodic potential of 0.54 (V vs. Ag/AgCl). A new method for modelling and analysis of non-linearity errors caused by the capacitor mismatches and op-amp non-idealities in two-step analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs) is presented. Analytical formulas for estimation of the ADC integral non-linearity (INL) are derived. Using the proposed method, the ADC INL can be calculated in terms of the capacitor mismatches standard deviations. A new genetic algorithm (GA) based method for direct calibration of 2-D hot-wire probe and other instruments that can measure 2-D flow properties is introduced. This new method is an alternative for the previous QR method that is commonly used for calibration of the X-probe hot wires. The proposed GA method resulted in a much smaller error in the velocity estimation while preserving the number of sentences in its calibration equation format. In this research, a web-based simulator is developed, which can be used for generating image sequences of moving spermatozoa cells. This work describes a novel Fe3O4@SiO2@polypyrrole magnetic nanocomposite and its application in the preconcentration of Cd(ii) and Ni(ii) ions. The parameters affecting the preconcentration procedure were optimised by a Box-Behnken design using response surface methodology. The purpose of this article is to develop a new method to estimate annual energy output for a given wind turbine in any region which should be easy to use and has satisfactory accuracy. To do this, hourly wind speeds of 25 different stations in Netherlands, output power curve of S47 wind turbine and fuzzy modeling techniques and artificial neural networks were used and a model is developed to estimate annual energy output for S47 wind turbine in different regions. In this paper, an approach based on the U statistic is first proposed to eliminate the effect of between-profile autocorrelation of error terms in Phase-II monitoring of general linear profiles. Then, a control chart based on the adjusted parameter estimates is designed to monitor the parameters of the model. The performance of the proposed method is compared with the ones of some existing methods in terms of average run length for weak, moderate, and strong autocorrelation coefficients under different shift scenarios.
