    Abstract
Cardiovascular diseases are the number one cause of heart failure and death in the world, and the transplantation of the heart is an effective and viable choice for treatment despite presenting many disadvantages (most notably, transplant heart availability). To overcome this problem, cardiac tissue engineering is considered a promising approach by using implantable artificial blood vessels, injectable gels, and cardiac patches (to name a few) made from biodegradable polymers. Biodegradable polymers are classified into two main categories: natural and synthetic polymers. Natural biodegradable polymers have some distinct advantages such as biodegradability, abundant availability, and...

Factors influencing the preparation of TiO2 nanopowders from titania sol

    Abstract
Titania nanoparticles with high photocatalytic activity were prepared from titanium alkoxide dissolved in alcohol and water under acidic conditions. The effects of the key parameters including (alkoxide/water) ratio, (alkoxide/alcohol) ratio, precursor type, solvent type, type and concentration of stabilizer, calcination temperature, presence of methylcellulose (MC) and hydrothermal treatment were studied. The optimal conditions were obtained through an experimental design technique. This technique is also used to find the main factors influencing the degradation of methylene blue (MB) and mass percent of anatase phase. The powders characteristics were investigated by XRD and...

Electrospun magnetic polybutylene terephthalate nanofibers for thin film microextraction

    , Article Journal of Separation Science ; Volume 40, Issue 19 , 2017 , Pages 3857-3865 ; 16159306 (ISSN) Bagheri, H ; Najafi Mobara, M ; Roostaie, A ; Baktash, M. Y ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
A thin film microextraction method using elecrospun magnetic polybutylene terephthalate nanofibers is developed and implemented to isolate some selected triazines. Due to the high mechanical stability of these nanofibers, they are repeatedly used under harsh magnetic stirring and ultrasonic conditions without any damage and structure degradation. The presence of magnetic nanoparticles within the nanofiber structure increases the extraction efficiency while the fibers could be collected by an external magnet. The synthesized nanocomposite showed strong affinity toward the selected analytes. Apart from the concentration of magnetic nanoparticles within the nanocomposite network, the effect of...
